The Films (Band) → The Films (band) – Band should not be in capital letters. 74.231.46.68 (talk) 16:47, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

The Films (band) → The Films – There is no reason for disambiguation. The Films is currently protected from creation due to multiple speedy deletions from pre-2009, but the article now is sourced and notability has been established. —Akrabbimtalk 13:27, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 16:06, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Akrabbim: To many people, "The Films" by itself means "the films". Keep the disambiguater. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 16:07, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- I could name many counter-examples following "The Noun[s]" format (The Doors, The Killers, The Band, The Prodigy, and so on). All over the site we disambiguate between things like Door and The Doors, without the need of a parenthetical. (I will say that when moved to The Films there should be a hatnote similar to that on The Doors.) —Akrabbimtalk 17:18, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose - I doubt this article would survive an AfD, so why bother. Coverage is WP:ROUTINE, and doesn't seem to pass WP:BAND. -- Netoholic @ 16:31, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- If it should be deleted, then nominate it. But there's no reason The Films should be a redlink while this article exists though. —Akrabbimtalk 17:18, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support. Why not? Notability is something to be discussed at AfD, and I'm not convinced that anyone would confuse "The Films" with films in general (The Music being a good, comparable example). PC78 (talk) 17:06, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support I doubt this would get deleted since two of the members are notable, and there's straightforwardly no need for the "band" disambiguation. Nohomersryan (talk) 22:10, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose seriously when the only argument being made for removing a dab is - go ahead try delete it, commonsense is saying that there is no great benefit to readers. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:25, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
- Eh? That's quite clearly not the argument being made. PC78 (talk) 02:19, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support The article clears WP:MUSIC and shouldn't be located where it is when there is perfectly good real estate at The Films. Chubbles (talk) 10:31, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
