[edit]I can't wait for this album. As a preview, you can go to Bob Dylan's website and download "Dreamin' Of You" for free. Also, you can look for these tunes Bob did for albums: "Tell Ol' Bill" from North Country soundtrack, "Huck's Tune" from Lucky You soundtrack, "The Lonesome River" With Ralph Stanley, from the album Clinch Mountain Country, and "'Cross the Green Mountain" from Gods and Generals Soundtrack. Other than that, good luck surviving.
Deluxe album controversy?
[edit]There's been a lot of discussion on the fan network about the extraordinary (as in ten times more expensive) pricing of the deluxe edition. Are there any mainstream sources which could support an addition to the album?
Also, if anyone's interested, NPR is streaming the two main discs this week (link through expectingrain.com, if you're interested). 195.62.202.107 (talk) 18:53, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
NPR
[edit]This is so damn good. I literally have not heard on song that I did not like. NPR is doing a special, if you'd care to gander. http://www.npr.org/templates/player/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=95047293&m=95059713 Droz 26 (talk) 01:37, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
What about Mississipi?
[edit]The text of the article states that: "Although Under the Red Sky, Good as I Been to You and Love and Theft were all recorded during this time period, no tracks from these sessions are included on Tell Tale Signs." But I think a version of Mississipi is in Love and Theft —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gatonuevo (talk • contribs) 15:07, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- If you look at Tell Tale Signs, all 3 versions of "Mississippi" are described as "unreleased tracks from Time Out Of Mind". The implication must be that Dylan was dissatisfied with the TOOM versions of this song, and he subsequently re-recorded it and released it on "Love and Theft". Vinyl edition
[edit]I've removed comments on inferior quality of vinyl edition which stated:
- The uniform use of the low resolution files resulted in arguably the worst sounding Bob Dylan vinyl release in over 10 years. To many fans, the sound on the Bootleg Series Vol. 8 is markedly inferior to its predecessor, Modern Times.
This needs a ref/cite. The only comment I've found by an audio expert on the vinyl edition seems to be favorable [1], so I've added this to article as cite. If anyone can find cite/ref for criticism of vinyl edition, they're welcome to restore these comments. Mick gold (talk) 12:34, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
Singles Edition
[edit]There seems to be three Bootleg Series Vol. 8, the two disc, the delux three disc, but also the Single Edition one disc. The third one is not mentioned (its UPC # is 0886973474723) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.77.34.220 (talk) 15:38, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
