Spoilers/Shows Not Yet Aired

[edit]

I noted that someone went ahead and put information in the elimination charts about which player would be eliminated in week 7, which does not air until tonight. I know that this info was based on the preview showed at the end of last week's episode, and is likely correct, however most people do not analyze those previews in any depth and would like to remain surprised. Additionally, editors have been known to throw in scenes from weeks ahead just to throw viewers off. Until the episode airs, it would be irresponsible to include information on which contestant is eliminated. I have deleted this information for now. In the future, can we please agree to only post information on episodes that have aired? 160.39.232.234 (talk) 19:48, 12 February 2008 (UTC)ColleenNYC[reply]

Eliminations

[edit]

Do you think eliminations would be held with both people of the pair going home every week? OR Will it run where the pair can reduce to one? ScottAHudson (talk) 04:01, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can we PLEASE wait to update these pages with elimination results until the program has broadcast on the west coast? thomas 10:03 EST 1/1/2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.139.1.99 (talk) 03:03, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With a couple of two going home each week, how can there be fourteen weeks? I count up and the total number of weeks adds up to be 10-11. 75.89.235.197 (talk) 04:03, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know where the number of "14 weeks" came from to begin with, but it may be that -- after a certain number of couples is eliminated -- the competition will revert to a single-player format. This would extend the number of eliminations beyond the current number. Roger (talk) 06:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Contestant Information

[edit]

The current chart says that the Green Team -- Lynn & Jennifer -- were eliminated by a vote of 7-2. This is wrong on two counts. First, with 10 teams in the game and two below the yellow line, the highest possible number of votes this round is eight. Therefore, the threshold number of votes needed is only five. Second, since only one couple (Yellow Team) voted to eliminate the Purple Team -- and the vote ended after five couples voted to eliminate the Green Team -- it was not revealed on the show for whom the remaining couples voted.

The vote should read "5-1 for elimination, with two votes uncounted."

Of course, all of that wouldn't fit in that space in the chart -- and just putting "5-1" would be incomplete and confusing. Maybe this column of the chart should be taken out and that information included in the Episode Summary. Roger (talk) 06:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How long is the total contest?

[edit]

Does anyone know how long it is between the last episode (week 14) and the final? It seems quite an important thing to know so that the viewers can judge how successful the weightloss has been at home.

Week 1 Summary

[edit]

I don't know what person added the last two sentences on the Week 1 summary, but I don't think they are appropriate. The summaries are supposed to say what happened on the show -- period.

Can anyone give any good reason why these two sentences should not be cut? Roger (talk) 04:13, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While they lost this weight after they went home, it was still information given as part of this episode. I don't see a problem with the statements. But I do think that the weight loss after going home can be presented in its own section or table. Davehi1 (talk) 07:37, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Week 14

[edit]

Why is there marks and darkgrays in Week 14's boxes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.17.117.173 (talk) 00:51, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Voting History

[edit]

I have decided to add a voting history. I will be recording any votes for the week and putting in the table, unless someone else can take on that duty. 98.17.117.173 (talk) 01:09, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How do you know the unrevealed week 1 votes were for Lynn & Jenni? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.17.117.173 (talk) 01:17, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When and if the couples dissolve to indivduals, I was thinking of formatting the Eliminated box like this
Eliminated
Brittany: Week 10
Bernie: Week 13

Does this seem okay to all you Wikipedia editors? Any suggestions for this that are better will be excepted. 98.17.117.113 (talk) 16:53, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Week 4 Summary

[edit]

I rewrote the summary for the events of Week 4 to provide a more complete version of the week's events. The original summary posted here also did not match the format of previously posted summaries. An episode summary should present the facts; opinions and speculation simply do not belong. Roger (talk) 21:53, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Weight Table

[edit]

How are we going to format the table for Week 5, especially with the eliminated couples. We could probably create a section below the Bob and Jillian lists called ELIMINATED BEFORE WEEK 5. ScottAHudson (talk) 01:44, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the way the voting history could look for the rest of the series. We seperate the couples remaining after Week 4 and each couple member gets their own box, along with votes they cast with their partner.

Week 10

[edit]

WAVY channel 10 kept interrupting the show for weather and political campaign reports. I missed Kelly's part of the canyon challenge. NBK1122 (talk) 02:40, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Week 11 Summary

[edit]

For the person who added: Shown before the episode was Kwame Kilpatrick's 2008 State of the City Speech, which ran 10 minutes over schedule. Due to the episode time shortage, the elimination results will be revealed first thing in Week 12. These two sentences have been removed for the obvious reason: The speech may have been why the show was delayed in the the Detroit Metro area, but that does not apply to the national audience. I assure you: My home station in Florida was not showing a message from the Mayor of Detroit.Roger (talk) 02:47, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 12 Votes

[edit]

Please note here if you know any of the votes in the ep. 12 section are wrong. 75.89.234.206 (talk) 22:22, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not at Ranch

[edit]

I'm confused, what is meant by the phrasing of not at ranch for Ali? This seems really ambiguous, could someone elaborate? After all, couldn't we just list her as pink with an asterisk or something of the sort? AISept8 (talk) 01:54, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It just means that she was at home during the period of time that phrase was referring to. She was eliminated in week 4, and was off the ranch from weeks 5 to 10 until she returned in week 11. 74.89.23.189 (talk) 23:39, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Running Totals in Weightloss Table

[edit]

I was a quite unhappy to find this morning that the "percentage loss so far" and "weight loss so far" columns had been removed from the weightloss table. Please don't remove data from the wiki page – if you are unhappy about the formatting or location then this should be discussed and a concensus reached before it is changed. I have added this data back into the table.

Obviously once the session is finished the coulumn headings should be changed to "total loss", but until then I think we should maintain the running totals for the contestants still on the show.--Green neuron 11:47, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Finale Results

[edit]

Is there any chance some kind soul could put the results of the finale weigh-in up as it happens?

No, that shouldn't happen, as western US time zones have not yet seen the show. 216.83.142.46 (talk) 02:04, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Simply do not look at the page if you do not want to know the results. STOP censoring the page! Green neuron 02:07, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I reported this user for vandalistic behavior. Time zones do not affect how information is added to Wikipedia. CoolKid1993 (talk) 02:15, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It would be easier if you just semi-protected the page. TheGoogler (talk) 02:17, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that Ali's final BMI is listed incorrectly. If she is 5' 5"" and 122 pounds, her BMI would be 20.3. See http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi.htm and http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.50.72.226 (talk) 18:03, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ali's BMI was incorrect – it was due to an error in my spreadsheet – i've fixed it now, sorry about that.Green neuron 21:33, 16 April 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Green neuron (talkcontribs)

Paul's Results

[edit]

I know Paul wasn't at the finale, but on April 20th, 2008, he reported on an ivillage message board that he was at 207lbs. The details of his illness are also available at the board and why he wasn't able to be at the finale. Should this info be added somehow? Here's the link: http://biggestloser.ivillage.com/diet/2008/02/paul_marks.php

I agree. You know in China, where this season was broadcast several months ago on CCTV, many audiences are convinced by the rumor that Paul "has died due to a sudden weight loss and pneumonia". Removed from the "Finale" section

[edit]

I have removed a very long text by 68.47.97.248 which seemed to be an advert for some sort of dieting product. I don't think it was an appropriate place to put an advertisement, waxing lyrical about the benefits some such weight-loss product. I think someone should look into that users other entries to see if all they are doing is announcing something they are selling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayjase (talkcontribs) 22:05, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
