Hi there. On your first question, since the field is the home venue for a major sport at a Division I institution, it is notable. Firstly, no, baseball is not football or basketball, but it is the third college sport in the majority of the country (South, Southwest, West Coast). Both the championships and numerous regular season games are televised nationally. Yes, there are exceptions (hockey in the Northeast and Upper Midwest comes to mind), but in much of the country and in many of Division I's major conferences (ACC, SEC, Big XII, Pac-12), baseball is covered extensively. College baseball is by no means a non-notable sport. Secondly, no, the AEC is not the SEC, and UMBC is not LSU, but they are nonetheless a Division I conference and school, with the same rules, scholarships, and significant national competitions that that implies. Neither the AEC or UMBC's athletic programs are non-notable.

On your second question, no, not every Division I field has an article, but the majority do (see List of NCAA Division I baseball programs to get an idea). Telling you this, however, I should let you know that I have created many of them (60-70 is a guesstimate, and here's a link to a list of the articles I've created if you'd like something exact), including the one we're discussing. Therefore, I'm not the most neutral observer of the issue.
