[edit]This has obviously been vandalised, I'm not even sure if the school is notable enough to merit its own page. Anyway, I'll just revert the vandalism back to the last good edit and put it on my watchlist. Bodil 22:11, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
I don't want to bite the newcomers but I think I'll have to revert the changes made by User:The Abbey School - most of the content was good (like the history section), but it reads like its come straight out of a prospectus. I'll have a go at re-writing it to make it sound less of an advert for the school. Bodil 18:13, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Jammy Dodgers
[edit]Is it appropriate to start a section on Jammy Dodgers? They are a big part of current school life and show the school in jolly light. Major KiKi 14:48, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- A few problems with that - they're not actually that big a part of school life, there are much bigger gaps we need to fill before that would merit a big section. Second, almost impossible to cite sources for (But I think Stanley's mentioned it in the prospectus once or twice, I think we're allowed to cite that). Have a look at the temp page though, we might be able to slot it in in a "school culture" section or something. (By the way, welcome to wikipedia!) Amelia Pound 19:23, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Improvement drive!
[edit]I'd really like to improve this article. I've started a temp page and it would great if we could get that up to scratch with sources cited. Thanks :) Amelia Pound 19:23, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
other Abbey Schools?
[edit]I think you should note that this is not the only Abbey School in England. Therefore this can be misleading, when I typed in 'The Abbey School' I was searching for The Abbey School in Faversham, Kent. Thanks. Differences 2006-08-29T17:50:56

Please cite sources
[edit]Content must be verifiable. Please only add information if it has been published by reliable sources. An example of this would be the number of students in the school - although the school may now have 1042 pupils, the most recent reliable source on this matter was the 2002 ISI report which said the Abbey had 973. Ergo, the article must state 973 until a source is found for the newer number. Thanks! Bodil 18:55, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Neutrality of Sixth Form section
[edit]I added a template because I think the style of the language is very POV and is not coming across as neutral. Some quotes below illustrate my meanings:
- With the new head of sixth form, Mrs Dent, joining in 2006, it has become one of the best places to study A-levels Not cited
- This was met with great sadness and, on coming to terms with this ban, many girls' wardrobes suddenly seemed far more barren than they would otherwise have been
- ...practically erased from day-to-day wear and the girls were understandably very upset by it.
- ...such a subject is surely in the prayers of many teenage Abbey girls
I'd appreciate it if this could be modified to suit Wikipedia standards as I obviously can't talk about a school I don't go to. BalazsH (talk) 13:01, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
