The deletion debate is taking place here[1]. Eik Corell (talk) 11:23, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You should not remove T4C, it was the first MMORPG in France and still has the best in game communication system. It is very important in the history of MMORPG for many people who begin with it and still have nostalgia about it. It has also far better quest (oracle quest) than most of the other MMORPG even popular one. From 1998 to 2000, more than 2000 players play it freely in goa website. Even if goa disappear and its page related to T4C also, this game is still important. You can find it on http://www.t4cbible.com/ or also on http://t4c.jeuxonline.info/. The official website is there http://www.the4thcoming.com/index.php And anybody can have proof this game existed and still exist now by using google and typing T4C (The 4th Coming) or L4P (La 4eme Prophetie). There is many playable official servers you can find, so no this game is not dead. 81.64.234.120 (talk) 11:45, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The deletion discussion ended some time ago; happily we've already decided to keep this. You may be interested to know that we generally measure a game's notability on the amount of coverage it has received in magazines and other publications. So the next step in improving the article is to incorporate such sources. Marasmusine (talk) 13:20, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Regarding these links: I don't think we should have these links. The first is accessable from the official site (WP:EL - we need to keep links to a minimum), and we shouldn't link to community-maintained fan sites (WP:VG/EL). The second link is a problem, as we musn't promote one server over another (WP:NPOV). Marasmusine (talk) 07:54, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've reported vandalism from two accounts bloked this day for the same reasons :

New additions

[edit]

@Deku link:, @Matthew Anthony Smith: In relation to these recent additions, the lack of any sourcing alone is enough for it to be inappropriate. There are other problems as well: From the top starting with the gameplay section, the tone is all off - It's written informally and it's advertisey, for example "but it survives because it is unique", "This means that the imagination of the player is limited only by his own determination", "The versatile character system makes PVP more interesting". The next problem is the amount of detail: "The technical level cap is currently 300", "a common practical level cap is around 250.". This is WP:GAMECRUFT, #7 specifically. Going on, the average reader has no idea what a sys-op is, and I'm not sure I do either. It then talks about how most servers are X or Y. Stuff about how certain servers make minor changes is not really helpful to gaining a better overall understanding of the game, and is just trivial details to the average reader. Albeit shorter, this is where the original gameplay section was better and had a source at least, even if a non-optimal one. The last part of the gameplay section is the stuff about music in the game, and this runs into #15 of the aforementioned WP:GAMECRUFT -- Non-notable soundtracks.

Equally problematic is the "vircom interactive" section. First problem is again that there are no sources, putting an entire section devoted to this is not appropriate. Second problem is that this section is that again, the tone is informal and self-serving, but also now, the section is heavy with original research. Examples: "It probably used the base engine from The 4th Coming although it was quite different.", "It is rumored that Vircom produced The 4th Coming version 1.25 to make money to support the new project...", "Chances of any new online games being developed by Vircom are very low seeing as how".

Perhaps the gameplay section could be augmented to squeeze in a few more things if anything noteworthy is left out, but not in the way tried above. Eik Corell (talk) 15:17, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I mean this question in the most respectful and curious way possible, but why was I tagged for this? Deku link (talk) 15:25, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You left a message about this on my userpage about this issue here, so it was to show you that I was responding here. Eik Corell (talk) 15:28, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, that was NOT me. The other user in this discussion merely bisected my AFD notice on your page so it appeared I was cosigning what he had written. I've moved his post so as to prevent further confusion. Deku link (talk) 15:29, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Can we do something to improve setting/story? i noticed diablo is allowed to show theirs and we have a source already there showing all of it in the source. I just think it deserves better. Matthew Smith (talk)
Looking at the Diablo series and Diablo 1 articles' sections, they have many more sources, citing manuals as well as books set in the universe, but also third-party ones, i.e Kotaku and Engadget. The lore of the Diablo series is much deeper than what is shown in those two sections on the Diablo series article, but even then is kept short because plot sections are supposed to be kept concise, restricting themselves to the major events and narratives of the game. The previous version of the gameplay section seems to indicate that there is not that much in the way of plot, at least nothing that rises to the level of, again, the Diablo series for example. When that is the case, guidelines say that this information can be incorporated into the gameplay section, and that's what I'm leaning towards with both the plot and the setting stuff. I've added some of the stuff to the gameplay section, and I wonder if perhaps I could do the same with some of the story, again in a limited way. Eik Corell (talk) 21:16, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
