Terminator console

Where can you find info about this terminator console? Nowhere! And I've lived with this system all my childhood, so I know what I'm talking about. I also am into video games, so why shouldn't I contribute? This article has value.

At least for me, a Romanian citizen. Terminator was the only thing we knew about console gaming for years and most of today's gamers remember it as "the console that started everything", even if it was a cheap clone. I strongly believe that the article should be kept and improved. I urge anyone who wants to delete the article on notability reasons to think again. 194.79.44.119 (talk) 19:50, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Hm, me also being Bulgarian, I have to disagree, these thing appeared much, much later than the normal NES -- in the early 90's, when everyone was buying this generation of consoles, the NES that were on sale, although I have no idea if most were or were not unlicensed, had the same casings and controllers as the normal NES. It's true that the third generation of consoles was defined by the NES here, although I recall a few Atari 7800 too.

The subject of the article I recall appearing in Bulgaria actually even long after the Sega Megadrive came here, of the fourth gegeration, after I had stopped paying attention to consoles. As the NES dominated the third generation of consoles here, so did the Megadrive of the fourth, IRRC. But the NES was actually more popular I think, at least in sales volume, as people bought it mainly for small kids. But those were the two most popular consoles. These knockoffs with different casings and leberal modding only appeared after the market had been saturated. Same with cartiges. And they were sold in a different kind of venue, the toy stores and flea markets such mentioned in the article, that did not offer any customer support or knew anything about what they were selling. In contrast the NES, licensed or not, was mostly sold in small shops that also handled small repairs and had a selection of titles and offerend replacements for damaged cartiges and such.

I don't recall anyone having a SNES. Then, of the fifth, the original Playstation had some success, after I saw a Sega Saturn only once. That was with some delay after that was the point when PC gaming went started spreading beyond people who liked computers anyway or had a computer for some other reason. I think it started with windows 95/98. Until then I remember playing Doom and Civ and such on other people's computers, the few that had x68s.

Before the NES, gaming was mainly on Apple ][ clone machines. Also, there were some Atari 2600 and 5200's briefly before the NES appeared here.

Is this a Terminator?

Jurasic Park 8-bit.

I found this in the trash. It says "The world's most popular computer video game system" on the top and "8-bit" under so it should be a Nintendo clone. // Liftarn (talk) 13:58, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Popularity

This particular Nintendo-clone was hugely popular in Poland, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria[citation needed], Romania, Pakistan, India, Iran and Bosnia, where it has gained cult status, and is still widely available on auction websites and flea markets. Due to economical restraints, the fourth generation consoles such as the Mega Drive or SNES were not popular in these countries.

I'm from Bulgaria and I can tell you that this console was really popular here before the invasion of the computers. Me and my friends would meet and play the "television game" really often and most homes with children used to have it. I can also afford to say that it was a cult here in Bulgaria.

This article is nice and all,but it needs references,that is why this article is proposed to be deleted,you might possibly save this article by adding references,because when I went to the reference page,there were none Simulator-master (talk) 05:51, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

Notability

This article is important for children, now adults; from a big part of the world which did not have access to the latest video game consoles. This was already moved from Terminator 2 (console). This is a hardware clone that was not covered in press. It needs to be saved. It is a potential candidate for invoking [[WP:5P5]. It is none of WP:SPIP, WP:SBST or WP:NOTESAL which the notability guideline seeks to prevent. There are many Wikipedia users who would be willing to improve it if there is any positive feedback so it complies with WP:WHYN. Does it need more references? I have added some sources.
