Is there any proof on Gan-chan and Alex being in it?

I am just asking since I don't see them at the site for this game at all. --Ryuu the Ancient Keyblade Master (talk) 17:24, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
The latest issue of the Japanese magazine, Arcadia, revealed them. The official site is set to be updated with the information today in Japan. --Unknown Gamer (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 19:21, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Gan-chan and Alex are visible on the teaser image from the latest website update, but Morrigan and Polymer are not Kinketsu (talk) 19:08, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually, from the site, you can make out the batwings you normally would see on Morrigan. The only other character with similar design, Lilith, doesn't have long hair (which can also be seen in the silhouette). Hurricane Polymer is the one on the far right, who has a similar pose and helmet (the one sticking out is a horn of his helmet). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.2.124.186 (talk) 00:52, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Speculating on who shadowed characters are is original research. JuJube (talk) 02:31, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
It really is speculation, I don't think batwings are visible. I think people are assuming that the cuff of Gan-chan's outfit is a bat wing. The shape of the shadowed character on the far right is not clearly Hurricane Polymer. Gan-chan and Alex are half-shown, and Alex was confirmed in a Japanese gaming magazine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kinketsu (talkcontribs) 12:11, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Hey there, just so you know, Yatterman No. 1's game art is already out and if you compare it to the 'mysterious' silhouttes on the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom site. Well, look for yourself! http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/5924/yattaeq9.jpg You can see that there is something to the 'bat wings' theory. Although, truth be told, Morrigan's classic 'floating in the air' pose which the shadow appears to be doing there is supposed to have Morrigan's wings on her head and back disappear and reappear as bats lifting her into the air. Just some food for thought.

Oowashi no Ken? Washio Ken? Yatterman Ichi Gou? Gan-chan?

I noticed some discussion about these characters names. Here is what it says for Ken (on the official Tatsunoko vs. Capcom website) and what it says for Gan-chan (from the latest issue of Arcadia) http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/7387/yatteroogv2.jpg If you want to make it 'less Japanese' then I suggest going with 'Eagle Ken' and 'Yatterman No. 1'. Is it all right to post that it would come out in EVO?

Yeah, we too are waiting for pics, but only to solidify the confirmation - it was already talked about in 2ch, and again, confirmed in neoGAF. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wuffiekun123 (talkcontribs) 18:54, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Heading to the Nintendo Wii

Heading to the Nintendo Wii with Balance Board Support.

Two Sources: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=en&u=ffl.sakura.ne.jp/rv/box1/tatsuvscap.htm http://www.mywii.com.au/NewsDetail.aspx?id=2440 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jofra01 (talkcontribs) 06:38, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

"Wii-compatible board" is not the same thing as Balance Board support. That being said, Fighting Front Line's a reliable source for fighter ews, so adding to the article. NeoChaosX (talk, edits) 16:28, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Isn't it a little premature to state it's confirmed as being ported to the Wii when all anyone has is a source which states the arcade board is compatible with the Wii?--Kabapu (talk) 22:45, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
The fact is that is not confirmed for Wii, and seeing the graphics, i think it´s not going to wii. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.172.90.97 (talk) 06:05, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
You mean aside from the fact that the article Jofra links to says it's being released on a "Wii-compatible" arcade board? And the Wii is centainly capable of those graphics; this is no Street Fighter IV or Tekken 6 as far as graphics go. NeoChaosX (talk, edits) 07:11, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Another Source: http://handheldwii.wordpress.com/2008/08/24/725897/ It seems that this is coming to the Nintendo Wii as the official site for the game says this runs of Nintendo Wii Hardware —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jofra01 (talkcontribs) 00:31, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Only rumors, when the official Capcom page says "Wii console", ok. The rumors are nothing, and if it´s going to Wii for having arcade Wii compatible hardware, can go to PS2, like a lot of other Wii games. If the game have more than 10 GB, then Wii must sell it in 3 Wii Discs, must wait for official words. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.172.77.203 (talk) 02:17, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
I agree, until we can find a real confirmation about a Wii version, or other console ports, this article must state that this game is arcade-exclusive.(WebJiCi (talk) 16:28, 27 August 2008 (UTC))
Does this mean all Wii Games then go to PS2? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jofra01 (talkcontribs) 04:34, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Not at all, but there are some like Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3, so it´s a possibility. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.172.77.203 (talk) 17:03, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Why are people treating it as a rumor though? It has been CONFIRMED by FFL, a credible source, that the game runs on Wii-arcade board. If that doesn't equate to Wii I wonder what does. <_< Wuffiekun123 (talk) 18:06, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

The only thing that's been confirmed is that, as you've stated, it runs on a Wii-compatible arcade board. That is far from a confirmation that Capcom plans on porting and releasing the title to the Wii console. It indicates that it is, indeed, a possibility; but it is no confirmation.98.207.79.51 (talk) 21:45, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Capcom is now considering on bring this outside of Japan but not for the arcades but rather consoles like the Nintendo Wii since it runs on the Nintendo Wii hardware. http://kotaku.com/5042793/dont-expect-tatsunoko-vs-capcom-in-the-us-update http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/4849759/______vs_Capcom —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.215.74.72 (talk) 22:06, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

The 'Gaf says it's official. I don't know about you guys, but the combination of Famitsu and NeoGaf seems like the most trustworthy source we're going to get short of Capcom or Tatsunoko themselves. Also, according to the article, we're getting a December 11th release date for the console game, Wii-exclusive characters, and endings produced by Tatsunoko. Good stuff. - Cyberlink420 (talk) 04:48, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Specify Daimaoh as a Wii-exclusive character

Because I've seen sites like FightersGeneration and MagicBox assuming that Karas and PTX40A as Wii-exclusive characters when in fact they aren't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wuffiekun123 (talkcontribs) 03:09, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Where in the Famitsu article does it say that? Appearance in the same article as the Wii announcement does necessarily mean he'll only be in that version. NeoChaosX (talk, edits) 03:42, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
http://kotaku.com/assets/images/kotaku/2008/09/tatsunokovswii.gif Even says "Wii exclusive character". Even in 2ch talk (http://schiphol.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/gamefight/1221648269/) it is listed at the current roster post "・ハクション大魔王 『ハクション大魔王』 ※Wii用 【声:大平透】" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wuffiekun123 (talkcontribs) 10:54, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

"Mega Man Powered Up" version? It's just Roll, in general. Are you saying that it's the MMPU version of her, because she uses a broom? Can't her having that broom in TvC just be a reference to MMPU, just like how the other characters perform moves and do things that are references to their series? Be that as it may, Roll originates from the first Mega Man game, not MMPU. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.185.201.149 (talk) 00:01, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

What Are The Advantages Of Playing As Gold Lightan or PTX-40A?

I know that if you play as Gold Lightan or PTX-40A, you can't pick a partner. What are the good things about playing as them?

I know that as compensation for only being able to play as one character, therefore having only one health bar, the damage you take is cut in half and you deal twice as much damage.

I need to know the fighting game terms for the advantages as well. This way it can be added to the main article.

SEVENth VS game?

I suppose it's worth clarifying that this is only for CAPCOM's side?

  1. X-Men vs. Street Fighter
  2. Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
  3. Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes
  4. Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
  5. Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000
  6. Capcom vs. SNK 2

And that's not counting Namco x Capcom and the Neo Geo Pocket Color exclusive (non-arcade) titles: SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium and the four card-fighting games (one on the Nintendo DS). Plus SNK's unorthodox SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos.

This game would be the 8th Arcade game, or the 14th overall VS game involving CAPCOM. Pakopako (talk) 19:10, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Isn't the US release of the game merely a rumor at this point, with nothing to it beyond a potentially-faked Nintendo Power photograph? Kouban (talk) 15:55, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

There were a set of scans from the Nintendo Power issue in question proving it's not a fake. And Capcom just confirmed it on their Twitter feed as well. http://www.destructoid.com/tatsunoko-vs-capcom-official-confirmed-officially-132563.phtml NeoChaosX (talk, edits) 17:35, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Tekkaman Blade confirmed for Ultimate All Stars

http://www.true-gaming.net/tgupload/images2/1252465369855.jpg

Scanned from Famitsu. The same article confirms that the game will be re-released in Japan with the UAS content. No idea if any of the other newcomers are featured, though. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 04:12, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Cross Generation of Heroes

Based on information coming out of Japan right now, it appears that Ultimate All-Stars is to be an updated version of the game featuring the online compatibility and the new characters and will be released in the US and Europe. Cross Generation of Heroes is the original and Japanese-only version. Should new articles be created and this one moved back to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 06:28, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

In regard to third-party sources, there will not be enough sustenance for CGoH to have its own article from what I can find. Instead, this article should clearly distinguish between CGoH for Wii and Arcade and the international version of the game to avoid confusion. While I do not have Famitsu, it seems Japan is also getting UAS, which may add to the complexity in writing the lead. « ₣M₣ » 07:18, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
So refer to CGoH as the original release title for Wii and arcade.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:01, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
This makes sense; games such as Street Fighter II and III that had new versions with minor changes and a new name are all covered on the same page, just with different sections in the one article, but the articles themselves are generally named after the first release. Arrowned (talk) 01:32, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Gamasutra just posted a new article relating to the game's general development. ~ Hibana 02:03, 10 November 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.158.67.184 (talk)

"Assault"

"Assault" is a beta version of the Mega Crash that can be seen in the game's first trailer. It doesn't exist in Cross Generation of Heroes, and it hasn't been shown in any of the trailers for Ultimate All Stars. I removed the sentence that said it exists, but somebody reverted me and told me to give a source. How am I supposed to give a source for that? Pikamander2 (talk) 01:25, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Although the game may no longer say "Assault", it is basically Mega Crash. It doesn't have to be in a trailer since the press releases are confirmation. « ₣M₣ » 00:51, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
If we're going to mention "Assault", we need to mention that it was a beta technique. Also, what do you mean by "It doesn't have to be in a trailer since the press releases are confirmation."? The press releases that use the term are outdated. Pikamander2 (talk) 13:39, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Calling it a Beta version seems to lean on wp:or. How are the June and September 2009 P.R's outdated? « ₣M₣ » 18:03, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it is original research. I wish I could give a good source, but it's such a minor thing that nobody has reported on it. The two sources that are provided must have taken it from other sources that are outdated. Why is it better to have wrong information than to have unsourced correct information? The first trailer is the only video that shows the assault technique. Notice the date of the video, and the lack of Mega Crash in the trailer. Pikamander2 (talk) 19:00, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Apparently, it can also be seen twice in the second trailer (1) (2), which was also released before the game came out. If you can find a non-trailer video that shows the technique, feel free to prove me wrong. Pikamander2 (talk) 22:45, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
What's the point if you can't understand Assault is Mega Crash being used offensively?

Casshern/Casshan spelling

To the anonymous users who keep changing the spelling of the hero from Neo-Human Casshern to "Casshern", here are some screenshots of this video game in English:

Note that in these screenshots, his name is spelled "Casshan". Now if you want to spell it "Casshern" in other articles related to the series, fine. But in this article about this particular video game, it should be spelled as it is spelled in the translation for this particular video game, not for other media involving the character. NeoChaosX (talk, edits) 22:05, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Also, the spelling "Casshan" was used in Cross Generation of Heroes as well (check the credits sequence), so no matter which way you look at it, the spelling "Casshan" is the only one applicable for this page, and that's how it stays. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 23:06, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Okay anon, the article has been full-protected. Please come in here and explain why the spelling should be Casshern when the recent English release of this game spells it Casshan, why the credits of the original Japanese release of this game also spell it that way, and why is there an an OVA that uses the "Casshan" spelling in both Japan and the Western world. Even if we're just counting the anime releases, the OVA alone make "Casshan" a valid alternate translation. Given that both Cross Generation of Heroes and Ultimate All-Stars use that spelling as well, people who are looking at information for the game will likely be only familiar with the "Casshan" spelling, and thus it should be spelled as such on this particular page. Protection?

It certainly seems like people are messing with the page more than usual, and I'm guessing it's only going to get worse once the game is released next week. I think we should protect the page from anonymous editing, at least until a week or two after it's released. All in favor? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 03:55, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

I wouldn't mind, especially considering the anon arguing over the Casshern/Casshan spelling issue is not wanting to bother with the discussion page at all. NeoChaosX (talk, edits) 06:20, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
