[edit]- Formats of the release I need a citation for CD single and for download.
- After finding them better add to the prose "Release and reception" section.
Done
Lead
[edit]- You should add something about the music video
- Another chart
- A bit more of the legacy section, this part "McIlrath commented on the song's popularity in a 2006 interview, saying that several fans had been using it for school graduations, proms, weddings, and funerals. In particular, he remarked how one fan sent him a wedding invitation, and the front of the invitation simply had the lyrics for "Swing Life Away". Seems rather important.

Recording and composition
[edit]- You must have mistaken the first reference on this section, it doesn't support the claim "The music and lyrics for "Swing Life Away" were written by Rise Against lead vocalist Tim McIlrath and his roommate Neil Hennessy".
- I believe it does,
- Interviewer: "'Swing Life Away' was huge and it's always funny to me because that was a song that you just wrote that with Neil who I guess was your roommate at the time?
- McIlrath: "We lived together for many years."
- Just to be on the safe side, I also sourced the actual CD single, since it says that McIlrath and Hennessy wrote the song on the CD itself.
- You need to clarify this part "We signed to Dreamworks and it got melted into Geffen when we were in the middle of that record cycle." Otherwise, people may not understand why they signed with Dreamworks and then the song was released under Geffen.
- Totally forgot to mention that. I just copied the note I used in Give It All, if that works.
Done. I didn't notice that on the interview.
Release and reception
[edit]- Sample on top of the section.
- reached multiple → reached three
- It was certified gold in May 2012 → should have a certifications table below, on the charts section
- Ultimate Guitar Archive → add also that was his favorite track similar to the review above. You could say "Aubin Paul of Punknews.org and Ultimate Guitar Archive shared a similar opinion, with the first saying...and the latter..."
- Marc Hogan of Pitchfork gave a much more critical review → everything is critical, I guess I would say "Marc Hogan of Pitchfork had a much more negative view" or something in these lines.

Music video
[edit]- You must use the information in the Kerrang source, not only saying that it was shot in Chicago you have a background section on it. The apartment, the baby, the car, the video turning into a leap as they had no idea for it, Fireside Bowl, a more precise location; you can also mention the cassette the creative director still has, for example.
- Going to have to respectfully disagree about the inclusion of some of the information. The apartment, the baby, the car, Fireside bowl, and how the creative director still has the cassette tape are rather trivial. Sure, they're neat tidbits for Rise Against fans, but this article shouldn't include trivia. I did mention how the video was a leap, since that seemed important. If you really want to include the other information, I'll edit the article accordingly.
- Perhaps the Fireside Bowl would be enough. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:19, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

Legacy
[edit]- It's not quite a legacy as it doesn't influence other artists and bands, at least it's only one cover version. Perhaps "Breakthrough and impact" or the other way around, would be more appropriate.
- I just changed it to impact, if that's fine.

Charts
[edit]- Bubbling under hot 100 chart doesn't require a subscription in the first place and I get nothing when clicking on it. Besides this, the title of the reference is misleading. Perhaps look out for this reference on Billboard Biz?
- I always thought that you needed a subscription to see the Under Hot 100 chart on the Billboard website. Anyway, I just changed it to Billboard.biz, that's where I found out about the chart position anyway.
- Rename the section "Charts and certifications" (see above why).
Done
References
[edit]- Everything seems fine, just link the first Punknews.org and unlink the number 13.
- That video from watchmojo is also available in the transcript?
- I'm not quite sure what your trying to say. Yes the transcript is available on the website, but it's on the same url.
Done That's what I meant.
External links
[edit]- The first link is just the youtube music video why do you have "Official Siren Song of the Counter Culture version music video"?
- Remove the second link as it doesn't work properly.
- Hmm, it works for me. The topic channels are always a bit buggy, so I guess that could be it. Anyway, I just removed the video, since the article mainly talks about the Siren Song version anyway.
- FMQB reference is dead, I need to check the date. Please found an archive version of it.

Overall GA review
[edit]- Missing a personnel section.
- To be honest, is it necessary for this article? To my knowledge, it's just McIlrath singing and playing the guitar, while Hennessy sings in the background. The liner notes for Sire Song don't go into detail about the specific personnel for Swing Life Away.
- Very well written article, minor flaws. On hold for a week. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 23:13, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
@Famous Hobo: Are you up for this or not?
- @MarioSoulTruthFan: Yeah sorry, life's been busy as of late. I do have every intention of fixing these issues. I can take care of the small stuff tonight, and fix some of the bigger issues tomorrow. BTW as a friendly reminder, pings don't work unless you sign your edit. I never received this ping. - @MarioSoulTruthFan: Well that took too long. I believed I have fixed all of the issues, or at least addressed them. Famous Hobo (talk) 03:27, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

Well done, that's why I enjoy reviewing your articles. I will take a look and give you some feedback. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:52, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Famous Hobo: you still need a personnel and credits section. Besides the writers, you have engineers, producer, people who played instruments, mixing, mastering...places the song was recorded, mixed mastered and so on. Needless to say you have to include it on the body of the article. Also, add the Fireside Bowl on the music video section and the article will be GA. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:18, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- @MarioSoulTruthFan: With even more procrastinating, I have finally finished the two remaining issues. This article now includes a personnel section (albeit a small one), and the Fireside Bowl has been added to the music video section. Famous Hobo (talk) 05:29, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Famous Hobo: passing. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 10:53, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
