Should Dignity Village be mentioned here?

---Another Believer (Talk) 19:24, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Graywalls: Making you aware of this discussion. Thank you! ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:25, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm inclined against adding the transient camp in the same way I'm against adding links to businesses and organizations into each of their hosting neighborhood. Graywalls (talk) 19:30, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Graywalls, Thanks, and we agree to disagree, so I hope other editors will weigh in as well. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:45, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Removing references to all businesses and organizations found in a neighborhood is clearly ridiculous. Would you support removing links to the University of Portland from University Park, Portland, Oregon? I'm guessing not. If something is a notable feature of a neighborhood, it deserves to be mentioned. Hopefully we can agree that Dignity Village is a notable subject, given that it has a longstanding Wikipedia article; I therefore see no reason why we shouldn't have a sentence on it. Willamette Week into NW District, Tacoma Screws in Sunderland, golfcourse in Sunderland. In this primarily industrial area, I'd say the transient encampment is very low in importance. Do you think the Dignity Village encampment is of enough importance to have a mention on the neighborhood page? Graywalls (talk) 20:35, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Graywalls, You're a new editor, so just in case you're not familiar, you can ping the person you're replying to by either linking their user name (User:Lord Bolingbroke) or using Template:Reply to. Thanks, ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:37, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a new editor and not a fan of source editing, but I'm far from greenhorn as far as understanding the processes as I've been watching the show from the sideline for quite sometime. Graywalls (talk) 20:44, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Graywalls, Sounds good, I just wanted to make sure you knew how to notify specific editors when you're reply to them. I also used my reply as a means to ping Lord Bolingbroke, in case they don't watchlist this page but wanted to reply to your comment. All good! :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:16, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Another Believer, also, regarding Street Roots, think tank and special interest sources Graywalls (talk) 21:20, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Graywalls, OK, but what does the reliability of Street Roots have to do with adding mention of Dignity Village to this article? ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:43, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Another Believer You listed a Streetroots.org source in the list at the top. So I wanted to make sure we're on the same page that said reference is apparently comparable as Indymedia.org Graywalls (talk) 10:54, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Graywalls, Sounds good, thanks for clarifying. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:26, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Graywalls: "Willamette Week into NW District, Tacoma Screws in Sunderland, golfcourse in Sunderland. In this industrial area, I'd say the transient village has very low importance." What exactly are you saying here? Are you saying we shouldn't mention that Dignity Village is in Sutherland because we don't mention that Tacoma Screws and the Riverside Golf & Country Club are also in Sutherland? I disagree with your claim that Dignity Village is unimportant, given that it's the only thing in Sutherland that has a Wikipedia article (at least out of what you've mentioned). "Do you think the Dignity Village encampment is of enough importance to have a mention on the neighborhood page?" Yes, that's what I said in my first reply to you and I'm saying it again now. Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 23:51, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Lord Bolingbroke, I don't want to be accused of edit warring, so if you'd like Dignity Village to be mentioned in the article, you might undo the most recent edit and note in the edit summary that there needs to be consensus to remove. Up to you. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:37, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
