The result of the move request was: Move. We have consensus that this is the WP:COMMONNAME. Cúchullain t/c 15:34, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
Seonu → Sun-woo – WP:NCKO, cited as the reason for the earlier move, states Personal, organization, and company names should generally be romanized according to their common usage in English sources. A Google Books search shows that both "Sun-woo" and "Sunwoo" are several times more common than "Seonu", and no individual listed on this page spells their name as "Seonu". 59.149.124.29 (talk) 11:03, 30 September 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose per WP:NCKO. The "article" is nominally about the name and not a list of people with that name; there are no English-language sources for the article and "Sunwoo" would be 순워오 in RR, so follow Wikipedia's standardised house style and not an ambiguous back-of-the-napkin rendering. However, of other want to move this non-article to List of people named Sun-woo, I support that (cf. Smith (surname) and List of people with surname Smith). — AjaxSmack 20:30, 30 September 2017 (UTC)

— This attempt to make a distinction between "list" and "article" is artificial and doesn't comport with actual practice: the overwhelming majority of smaller given name and surname pages don't have a separate article and "list of people named", and are just located at the actual name. This is true even when the page is just a bare list. See Category:Given names and Category:Surnames articles. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 02:09, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

ENHYPEN's Kim Sunoo
[edit]Why does Kim Sunoo keep getting removed? His name's hangeul is 선우, it's just a different English spelling. 2600:4041:6787:8D00:158B:2648:2FC3:1F53 (talk) 00:05, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
