Expert warning?

[edit]

The article begins with: "The process of implementing a damage detection and characterization strategy for engineering structures is referred to as Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). Here damage is defined as changes to the material and/or geometric properties of a structural system, including changes to the boundary conditions and system connectivity, which adversely affect the system’s performance."

None of the jargon has links to other Wikipedia articles. I'm a reasonably well educated person, yet I have no idea what is meant by "damage detection", "characterization", "boundary conditions", "structural system", etc... Givethemahug (talk) 21:30, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
