Really do add the bang???
[edit]"Really do add the bang???" I'm lost for words. And added on April 1 as well. I nominate this for Best Edit EVAR!!! [1] AlistairMcMillan 12:30, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Weapon fire rates for ships in Bridge Commander and Star Trek
[edit]In Bridge Commander, in the default settings for federation ships there is a significant time lag between photon torpedo reloads, and only one phaser bank can be fired at a time (if your ship has more than one) - although if you download a mod both of these settings can be changed.
Incidentally, does anyone know how fast ships in Star Trek are supposed to be able to fire photon torpedoes? Most times on screen they never seem to fire more than 4 at a time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.108.40.190 (talk • contribs) 03:36, 13 May 2006
I think Nemesis has the Enterprise-E firing its entire complement of torpedoes (not at the same time, though). I understand that there must be time before reloading; however, as the loading systems are automated, I would expect it to take several seconds at most, not almost half of a minute. I think this was a conscious decision so as not to make the ships more powerful and allow more tactical combat to take place than simple "carpet bombing". - Different ships have different launchers with different capabilities. The Galaxy-class starship, for example, was equipped with a burst fire photon torpedo system capable of firing ten torpedoes at the same time, each of which could be separately targeted. The Sovereign-class, along with standard photon torpedo launchers, had a quantum torpedo turret capable of firing four quantum torpedoes in rapid succession. Then you have the Akira-class which just has an insane amount of torpedoes... so really, it depends on the ship and what type of launching systems it has. 81.179.93.57 23:23, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
As this person said before me there are different firing rates for different classes of ships. The akira class can can fire approximately up to ten photonic torpedoes in a row, but I don't have the game but my friend does and he is pretty much my primary source of information on this game. As for the galaxy class my friend said it can fire approximately 5 - 7 photonic torpedoes in a row. But phasers are almost the same on each ship. On a sovereign class starship you can only fire a phaser bank for around 10 seconds then it burns out wait a second or two and then voile you can fire phasers again. 18:45, 1 July 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.232.105.5 (talk)

[edit]Is it just me or does this article lack NPOV? References too, I don't see one reference.
- The modding section could use some re-writing too. Aside from being largely subjective, it's not exactly well-written. 81.179.93.57 23:23, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

- I don't appreciate being called a jerk. But you seemed to have deleted a large section, especially with the plot. Yes, the plot can be shortened, but you turned it into a blurb that might go on the back of the game, not a full plot overview. Also, as well as a few other issues, you deleted the reference list. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 15:27, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- It was a lot better then it is now, the plot section is overly long and the article itself is very poorly organized. --70.176.184.44 (talk) 17:39, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- As I said, the plot should be shortened, but you removed almost all of it. Next time, make edits section by section, so that it's easier to keep the good changes, but not the bad. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 20:22, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

- So because of ONE section I now have to redo the entire thing. Thanks. --70.176.184.44 (talk) 05:55, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- Did you miss the "as well as a few other issues" line? Anyway, that current storyline looks great. Short, sweet, but covers the whole plot. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 19:29, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:USS Dauntlesswithshuttle.jpg
[edit]Image:USS Dauntlesswithshuttle.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Controls and Reviews for Star Trek: Bridge Commander
[edit]I was wondering what are the controls on Bridge Commander are because I just ordered the game and I was hoping to learn the controls of the game before I got it. And also if you could provide some reviews on the game I could get the idea of the game too.
I hope you could help me on the controls because it looks so good on the youtube gameplay videos so thanks if you can help me!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.232.105.5 (talk) 17:56, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Star Trek Bridge Commander on Windows 7
[edit]To date I have been unable to find any reference to solutions to the problems running STBC on Windows 7 and would appreciate any information.
Even after modding using the very latest mods, the game will not load saved games and crashes often. Although it runs the Galaxies Mod without problems, it would be nice to go back and play the campaign and the other mission pack mods that are available. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.24.59.161 (talk) 07:12, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
