Talk:St Edmund's College, Canberra

Tagged as noncompliant due to large amounts of subjective, non-encyclopaedic content ("Every year, when the St. Edmunds First Fifteen takes on Marist on Owens Oval it is sure to be a ripper") and meaningless passages ("the college is known for its great pride in its achievements and student-created atmosphere"). Needs cleanup, and some mention of what St. Edmund's does when it's not playing rugby would be a bonus. --Calair 15:01, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- They don't do anything when they're not playing rugby. That's the point.

I was thinking some more informative informaton would be good on this page. Like talking about the various school facilities such as the retreat center on the coast, something about the school houses, a little history, curriculum, extra curriculum, you know, rather than this very vague description which doesn't really tell you anything about the school itself and the current headmaster's life story. Anyone else agree here? If I get no reply I'll get to work on this in the next couple of weeks.--Antonioism 17:03, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Notable Alumni
[edit]- I have just reverted an anon edit ref Alex Jesaulenko - plausible but can we have a reference please--Golden Wattle talk 09:20, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Who keeps on taking tom palmer off the notable people list, fucking homo's who ever are you —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.46.185 (talk) 09:21, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Who the hell keeps taking off Thomas Schmocker, Nick van Diemen and Michael Hammond's name!? They have just a right to be there as the fifty rugby players.
- If the "Notable Alumnus" has no Wiki page then a reference should be provided to support claims that they attended the school just as was done with Alex Jesaulenko above. The name Tom Palmer redirects to people who have nothing to do with cycling and thus needs a reference. I don't this swearing will help you ou though.Antonioism (talk) 09:09, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't think obscure Western Force players are "Notable" Alumni. Alien Benst (talk) 08:02, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
I think the information there is enough for people, after all your not going to that school. My brother is Chairman of that school. Why do you want more information for brief information is better then long information and who wants to read long article on net. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.38.101 (talk) 12:03, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

St Edmund?
[edit]Who was the St Edmund after whom the school is named? It can't be Edmund Ignatius Rice, as he's not a saint yet. -- JackofOz (talk) 05:26, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- Does nobody know the answer to this question? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 13:35, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
- I assume it to be Edmund the Martyr but have no source for that. –Moondyne 04:40, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- Tks. The schoool's website makes no mention of it, which is rather odd. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 05:28, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
