Kyrgyzstan

[edit]

The biggest running joke on Sporcle, especially in geography quizzes, is about the country of Kyrgyzstan. Probably no reliable source reports it though.--X sprainpraxisL (talk) 23:27, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia on Sporcle

[edit]

It might be interesting to include Wikipedia appearances on Sporcle; however, I do not know if it would be notable. Any comments?Ryan Vesey (talk) 01:12, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

do we need this article?

[edit]

Is the Sporcle website famous enough to warrant there being an article about it here? What does anybody else here think? --Money money tickle parsnip (talk) 16:37, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to have enough sources to meet WP:WEB. --McGeddon (talk) 14:58, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The sources are largely links to Sporcle itself. There is little in the way of secondary sources of importance. I strongly suspect that the reason for this article's existence is mainly because the Sporcle website happens to appeal personally to a lot of the same kind of people who like to edit Wikipedia. There is little sign that it has any real importance beyond that, and I would suggest removing it. --Money money tickle parsnip (talk) 21:12, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should keep it. It recently charted the top 1000 on Alexa's list. 1618033goldenc0ntr1b5 23:31, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Name change

[edit]

I could swear Sporcle used to have a different name. Can anyone else recall this? Or was there just a very very similar website at some point? --Ifrit (Talk) 15:01, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm pretty sure it's always been Sporcle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Corndog234 (talkcontribs) 19:52, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction isn't written very well at all

[edit]

Someone who writes better than I should change it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WiKaffiN (talkcontribs) 23:31, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Update Presidents quiz screenshot?

[edit]

Should I get a new, updated screenshot (showing 45 presidents and that Obama's term ended), or leave it as it is? The choice of quiz is probably the best option. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jelroy the second (talkcontribs) 19:01, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think that can be a 'friendly' edit. The question of whether that graphic is the most suitable choice is more interesting. I would pick a 'timeless, high-played' quiz with an eye-catching (as opposed to an eye-straining) graphic. I'd pick from either Sports or Geography, since those are referenced as the most common. @Wigbold and Jelroy the second: I'd encourage you to be bold and do it! As a non-free file, it will need uploading locally on Wikipedia through the Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard process. Let me know if you need help with this. — Bilorv (talk) 23:04, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
