I looked on Google maps and this school within the boundaries of the Empire CDP. And yet this article says it is in Buras. Can someone explain this to me? NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 10:02, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@NintendoTTTEfan2005: I will compare the school's location (between Dazet Lane and Lucretia Lane) to the following CDP maps:

2020: Empire CDP page 3/3 and Buras CDP (Palm Street is the boundary) - Turns out as of 2020, South Plaquemines indeed is in Empire CDP!
2010: Empire index page and CDP page 3 ... Buras index and Buras CDP page 1 (same boundary on Palm Street)
2000: Empire CDP index and Empire CDP page 3 ... Buras-Triumph index and page 1 - Boundary NW of Dinet street, which would still be Palm Street
1990 index of Plaquemines Parish, page 24 shows boundary between Empire CDP and Buras-Triumph CDP

So, it turns out that it is in Empire CDP. Thanks for finding this!

While indeed CDP maps can change from time to time (from Census to Census), it seems the boundary was fixed for decades.
