I hate to suggest this, but it seems that Lem snatched the idea of simulacra generated by an alien intelligence was snatched from film Forbidden Planet. Lem did see it and described it to be "on the level of delirium". However nearly whole thriller of the film is based on mystical intruders which turned out to be generated by a survived ancient giant machine able to embody monsters of the subconsciousness of a person who learned how to control it (at least what I remember from it). --Altenmann>talk20:53, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
