I don't get why the proposed deletion nominator claims the source is unreliable. It is authored by Joseph Mellor, an eminent chemist and Fellow of the Royal Society. Admittedly, he does say "according to..." somebody else, but I found two more recent sources mentioning the substance. This one "Samples of CYP119-II for XAS studies were prepared by mixing at 0–5C equal amounts of an ≈1.4 mM solution of CYP119 in 500 mM potassium phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) in ≈70:30 water-ethylene glycol with a basic solution of sodium peroxynitrate" and this "The common regulators are sodium chloride (NaCl), sodium peroxynitrate (NaNO 4 ), potassium chloride (KCl), potassium sulfate (K 2 SO 4 ) ammonium chloride (NH 4 Cl) and so on..." Right, yet another synonym "peroxonitric" was needed. Ok, no solid salts are known, but that is a vague basis to dismiss Mellor on. It remains possible that the discovery is an overlooked piece of work by the Russian Tanatar. We can still mention in the peroxynitrate article that Tanatar made this claim without giving an opinion on its veracity. Unless there is a source that explicitly states that Tanatar was mistaken. Sounds good to me. I would suggest redirecting this article to peroxynitrate, and make some sort of remark there. Keres🌕Luna edits! 21:09, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with that solution. SpinningSpark 07:50, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
