The CM

[edit]

I changed 'a christian group' by the more correct Christian Mutuality, which is an English translation of it's name. It's also more correct in another sense as the CM is not a merely a group, but an organization that offers health insurance.

Notability?

[edit]

for eg, where is the wikipedia article for this event that happened at around the same time?: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/14/us-bangladesh-ferry-idUSBRE82D0RX20120314 Bangladesh ferry dragged from river, death toll at 110 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.167.78.183 (talk) 13:16, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"The head of the Cantonal police Christian Varone described the crash as “unprecedented”"

"Overcrowded and unregulated ferries often run in to trouble on low-lying Bangladesh's extensive network of rivers and waterways. Hundreds of people are killed in accidents every year." 213.121.241.34 (talk) 15:41, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not arguing one way or the other but apparently this is the worst bus accident since 1982 when a train killed 39 German tourists by plowing into their bus. More recently http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2005/apr/18/2 12 killed as Swiss bus plunges into ravine in 2005. 70.90.87.73 (talk) 17:23, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Dear 122.167.78.183, Wikipedia is a free and open source Encyclopedia, so YOU can write that article, if you wish, or anyone else that is interested in doing so. Tarius (talk) 18:19, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is a monumental memorial park dedicated to this immense unprecedented tragedy at Sierre close to the place of the catastrophe. It was the bus where passengers were children. I've made some photos of this memorial park and the monuments for the commons category Commons:Category:Memorial of the coach accident of Sierre. Alexey M. (talk) 09:43, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nationalities

[edit]

Is there available information about deaths by nationalities? --Olli (talk) 06:21, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Two years after the crash of a bus carrying children in the tunnel Sierre , parents requested a fresh investigation , reads Het Belang van Wednesday Limburg and Gazet van Antwerpen . According to counsel for the parents, it is in the report of a second mobile phone that the bus driver had on him at the time of the accident. Driver distracted by changing DVD?

[edit]

The Italian media today alleged that one of the survivors has claimed the crash happened as the driver was changing a DVD.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 14:32, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Media reports today (Sky News, 15.26 GMT) say no witness statement exists to support this allegation. --62.163.152.44 (talk) 15:26, 16 March 2012 (UTC) The Profi - bus driver also take para-police (dangerous) jobs. observed in 2011 itself. That's first. The Second: the damage to passengers Saalon are ringed. How could now be immediately death every 28 victims?Turist1234567 (talk) 15:41, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reactions

[edit]

The section called Reactions of this article seems me problematic: many other government leaders have sent messages like the Frenchmen President Sarkozy, the Russian President Putin and the Swiss President Widmer-Schlumf and many others ... --Schnäggli (talk) 11:24, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and it's always the same predictable codswallop: "The President of Foobar sent his deepest condolences". Honestly, why do people think this crap is somehow important? WWGB (talk) 11:30, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. It goes without saying that governments/heads of state send their condolences, condemn the attack, praise the achievement, etc. as appropriate to the event. Unless one of them declare he is happy about the accident, this kind of stuff doesn't contribute anything to the understanding of the event and should be removed. Likewise, the tear-jerking bit about the father of one of the victims has no place here. This is an encyclopedia, concerned with facts. This stuff belong to the daily mail, facebook, whatever. Now Removed. Bomazi (talk) 14:49, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
