The editing history of this article indicates that various editors with a conflict of interest have been editing the Siena College article since at least 2008. This conflict of interest editing has involved various incidents where promotional material has been added, also the addition of copyright violating material taken directly from the college's website or closely paraphrased from the same source. Further detail can be found in this thread [1] at the Conflict of Interest Noticeboard .

Any editors directly employed by Siena College, on work placement at the college, or otherwise associated with the college are advised to familiarize themselves with the following policies etc.: WP:COI, WP:UPE, WP:NOTPROMO, WP:COPYVIO, WP:COIE and WP:CLOP.

However, in short:

You need to formally declare your conflict of interest on your user page.

You should not edit the Siena College article directly (unless making very minor factual edits, e.g. updating figures).

You can request that edits are made to the article by using the 'Conflict of Interest edit request' process. (details can be found under WP:DISCLOSE).

Material requested to be added must be original material and not directly lifted or closely paraphrased from the Siena College website or from any other source. Similarly any material requested to be added must not be of a promotional nature. Axad12 (talk) 08:12, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are many inaccuracies on the Siena College page that should be corrected. It is understood that this can't be from someone who works at the college. Who can help edit the inaccuracies and outdated information? They include numbers of students, endowment numbers, the logo, Siena was never called the Golden Hurricanes, race and ethnicity breakdown. Academics does not include information on accreditation or rankings (like for instance, Marist College does:Marist College) The history was mostly recently deleted and it was the one accurate place (although it didn't have anything about recent history such as construction of a new science building).
Not looking for anything promotional, just accuracy. What can be done and how? 199.223.241.21 (talk) 17:23, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The answer to your question is included within the initial post in this thread, surely?
And I see that you continue to try to include promotional material (both below (the rankings) and the recent mainspace edit which you surely realise was prohibited). Axad12 (talk) 20:06, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • What I think should be changed: Siena has a total undergraduate enrollment of 3,497 (fall 2023), its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 176 acres.
  • Why it should be changed: The wrong numbers for acres and students are listed.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/siena-college-2816
  • What I think should be changed: Include rankings. #19 Best Value Schools. #59 Top Performer Social Mobility. #69 BEst College (Wall Street Journal)
  • Why it should be changed: Similar pages have them. see https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Marist_College

Not Done. Requesting editor has not disclosed their conflict of interest, as required by WP:COI. Axad12 (talk) 19:48, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have a conflict of interest as I am affiliated with Siena College. I have declared this on my user page. I propose the following changes to improve the article for accuracy and neutrality:

  • What I think should be changed: Siena has a total undergraduate enrollment of 3,497 (fall 2023), its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 176 acres.
  • What I think should be changed: The image being used is the college's presidential seal, not it's logo.
  • Why it should be changed: Inaccuracy
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): https://www.wamc.org/news/2023-08-21/siena-colleges-updated-logo-gets-mixed-reaction-from-saints-faithful
  • What I think should be changed: Add notable alumni paragraph. Include Wendy Moniz, television actress, and Doug Hickey, United States Ambassador to Finland.
  • Why it should be changed: Notable alumni is an important piece that is missing.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): Doug Hickey and Wendy Moniz
