EVINE Live Wikipedia page

Hi, This page is being improperly edited. It needs to read "EVINE Live", not EVine Live. Please refer to the website http://evine.mwnewsroom.com/. Also the logo in Google search (Wikipedia results in right corner of screen) is popping up as ShopHQ

Inaccurate info

removed inaccurate info: There is a fulfillment center for shipping of orders in Bowling Green, Kentucky which also works with Polo-Ralph Lauren. 17:38, 25 March 2007‎ User:216.57.96.1

  • EDIT: The above is not entirely inaccurate. There is a fulfillment center (including a customer service call center) in Bowling Green, Kentucky but it no longer works with Polo-Ralph Lauren.Ashaloo (talk) 21:55, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Irrelevant Redirect on Jim Peterson Jim Peterson owned a company called V2 Premier AKA Viscom Technologies, However I think its inappropriate to link to Jim Peterson when the redirect has nothing to do with the TV Shopping guest. Just checking. Maybe someone knows more then I do. JasonHockeyGuy (talk) 08:05, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Requested move 13 February 2015

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Moved as requested. I don't see a problem here. No substantial opposes, and looks like the common name, outside of company promotional literature. (non-admin closure)  — Amakuru (talk) 14:14, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

EVine LiveEVINE Live – Accounts related to the network's parent company insisting first part of name is capitalized despite logo showing it in lower-case; deferring to them despite media sources saying otherwise. – Nate (chatter) 06:21, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:31, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
It should have be at "Evine Live" per MOS:NAMECAPS or as how the media refers to them and indicate that the company stylizes it as "EVINE Live". We are not here as an extension of their PR departments and the article should come up in a search. Spshu (talk) 22:40, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
  • I deferred to the parent company's spelling mainly because it looks like it would be capitalized if not for the usual bizarre design departments which insist on small letters to look cool. Wanting to settle this also played into the move proposal; the last few years have involved COI accounts with PR people for home shopping networks like this one who want every bit of SEO polished as can be. • Support EVINE Live or Evine Live. Apologies for not checking this talk page first... I renamed the article to EVINE Live yesterday in response to VRTS ticket # 2015021210015126 without realizing that it might be controversial. Anthony Appleyard reverted it. That's fine, although I must say that a title beginning with just two uppercase letters looks like an error. I have suggested to the company representative to participate here. ~Amatulić (talk) 17:43, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
It may be for eVine = "electronic Grapevine", compare eBay, eBook, iPod, iPad, etc. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 17:45, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
I doubt it. I see Evine and EVINE but not EVine in any source. The current name of the article is flat-out wrong. Whether it should be "Evine" or "EVINE" doesn't really matter, and the company would prefer either over the current title. ~Amatulić (talk) 20:53, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Subsequent comments

What? I did make an "substantial opposes" post as it was based on MOS:NAMECAPS. Amakuru, where in the world did you get that there were none? Spshu (talk) 00:01, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

@Spshu: true, but your comment was not actually an "oppose" in the sense of favouring the existing name, it was a suggestion to move to a third name, other than the original name or the proposed name. Apologies if I didn't mention that in the close, but I think the result is the same. With two people favouring a move to one target, and just one favouring to a different target, and all seem to satisfy policies, it comes down to simple numbers. If you want to test the waters for a move to Evine Live, you're welcome to open a new RM to that effect. Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 09:03, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
