- Thank you Omert33 for this very interesting addition to the encyclopedia! For DYK, it is new enough, long enough, neutrally written, no pings on Earwig, and ALT0 and ALT1 are both very interesting. No QPQ required. I have one concern about adherence to policy, which is that especially for the section on the protests, which may be controversial, it is important that each claim be accompanied by the source that verifies it, rather than leaving to the end of the section. Is it possible to add those in? Innisfree987 (talk) 02:14, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Added sources to ALT2 and ALT3.I would also recommend using the image. Thank you. --Omer Toledano (talk) 04:34, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Omert33, ah I apologize, I wasn’t clear enough: I meant in the entry, the statements should each have their relevant source cited at the end of the sentence, at least in the protest section which may be controversial (but it is good practice thoughout). This is to adhere to the DYK rule that entries should be within policy and that is part of WP:BLP policy. Meanwhile I can definitely propose the picture—it will be up to the promoter to decide whether to use it as only one image is chosen per day so there are often more images than openings for them. We’ll try though! Innisfree987 (talk) 05:34, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Also if you prefer a different caption, that’s fine with me! I just had to pick something to fill out the form but we can change it. Innisfree987 (talk) 05:46, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. I added citations. By the way... I was under the impression that it is better to cite at the end of a paragraph. Throughout the years, I've actually seen people move citations to the end of the paragraph as a preferable way to do it but "to each his own" I guess. --Omer Toledano (talk) 05:58, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Innisfree987, Performed copy editing for punctuation, grammar, typos, and redundancies. What do you think? --Omer Toledano (talk) 15:03, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- I’m sorry, the section on the Black Flag protests, which are the most likely to draw contentious editing if she is featured on Main Page, still look unreferenced to me. It’s interesting to hear you have seen a preference for this style—I definitely know some prefer never to interrupt a sentence but I’ve never heard about the end of a paragraph... I would have guessed it was regional as I usually work on US bios, but recently was involved in the Good Article nomination of Priscilla Jana, a South African activist. If you have a look at that, you can see what I had in mind? Thank you, I just want to make sure the entry is solid before it hits the spotlight! Innisfree987 (talk) 16:19, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Innisfree987, I added another reference citation in the part about "The Black Flag" protests. For your consideration. --Omer Toledano (talk) 17:46, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came over from the note at WT:DYK. While piling up the citations at the end of a paragraph is fine for a start-class article at DYK, in this case, if the reviewer feels that these sentences can be seen as controversial and raise WP:ERRORS comments from readers while it's on the main page, then you should please add the inline cites.
- BTW, this is the second hook you've proposed that mentions the subject's participation in the protests against Netanyahu (the other is Gonen Ben Itzhak). Does every hook have to mention this? I feel like you're pushing an agenda or something. Yoninah (talk) 21:21, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Apparently, I am a big fan of revolutionaries. :-) --Omer Toledano (talk) 16:58, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you, Yoninah, for explaining why I am asking for inline citations. Omert33, please just let me know when you’ve added them. At this point I would do it myself but unfortunately I don’t read Hebrew. Innisfree987 (talk) 18:39, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Innisfree987: Per your request, I've added inline citations. I trust this should suffice. --Omer Toledano (talk) 18:55, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, it does. All set. Innisfree987 (talk) 19:09, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
Department name
[edit]The Study and research section currently says: "Bressler heads a physics research group in the particle and astrophysics department of the Weizmann Institute..." It would be good to know the true name of the department referenced so that we know whether or not to capitalize its name. Kirby777 (talk) 21:39, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Okay, it's called the Department of Particle Physics and Astrophysics, so the capitalization should be fine as written. Kirby777 (talk) 22:24, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Merav Michaeli
[edit]The reference to the Israel Prize in the Times of Israel translation of what Merav Michaeli said 23 March isn't appear totally accurate. On Instagram[1], Facebook[2] and Twitter[3] she wrote הייתה מועמדת לקבלת פרס ישראל ("would be a candidate to receive the Israel Prize"), not "would be given". I'm also wondering why "[i]n ..." rather than "In ..." as in the TOI. Despite not starting the sentence the quote's first letter can be capitalised. Mcljlm (talk) 02:03, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

Citations and External links
[edit]Several of the citations and external links - eg. The New York Times, Haaretz, The Marker, Financial Times - are sources for which subscriptions are required. I've added archived URLs which usually enable articles to be read without subscriptions to external links and a NYT citation. Perhaps one or more of you FFM784, Omert33, DenverCoder19, François Robere, Sluzzelin or Whitemancanjump23 could add archived URLs of others.
Since many Hebrew Haaretz articles also appear in the English edition perhaps the English versions could be cited, including archived URLs saved at the Wayback Machine or - if incomplete there - at archive.today. Mcljlm (talk) 04:42, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. Not sure if I have the bandwidth for this in the coming weeks, especially as there some other pages I'm planning to work on. I will add it to my list and see what I can do. But in the interim, if any of the other tagged editors what to have at it, no problem :) Whitemancanjump23 (talk) 04:49, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
