Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Official Competition, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 123Writer talk 06:33, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How did I deviate? Whitemancanjump23 (talk) 06:34, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi and thank you for the question,
Adding rhetorical questions is not following an encyclopedic style. You can write it like:
He is wondering about his legacy and considers financing the construction of a bridge. 123Writer talk 06:44, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
oh ok. why didn't you just change it to this? Whitemancanjump23 (talk) 06:48, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because you were the one editing the article. Didn't want to steal your thunder! Also I use a semi-automated program so it wasn't something I could easily do and I assumed if you needed clarification, you would've asked. 123Writer talk 06:54, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok great. Thank you and thanks for helping me out. Have you seen the movie? I loved it! Whitemancanjump23 (talk) 06:57, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately not, but I'll give it a watch! Don't worry by the way, you aren't in trouble, nor are you expected to memorize the big big big manual of style. Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia! :) 123Writer talk 06:59, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! If in the future, I have editing questions, would it be ok to ask you? Whitemancanjump23 (talk) 07:01, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! And if I'm not available, the fine folks at the Teahouse will gladly assist you. 123Writer talk 07:03, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Have a great day :) Whitemancanjump23 (talk) 07:10, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks. I thought this was borderline which is why I went via AFC as opposed to just creating it. Looking at your reasons, I think you're right and that it is on the premature side. Thank you for taking the time here to look at these. Whitemancanjump23 (talk) 11:42, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
