[edit]Chak Muzzafarabad is a village in the Shahpur District. It was named after Malik Muzaffar Yar Khan Tiwana who started a village there and has been passed on to his children. Currenly Muzaffarabad has strated(?) and NGO by the name of Kiran Welfare Organzation. It is very easy to acess from the motor way. Just 30 minutes off the main highway. It has a population of about 5000 and has a stud farm as well.
(Moved from content page) None of this pertains to Shahpur directly. If this village deserves a seperate page on Wiki, please do make one seperately. -Xcentaur 07:46, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

== Shahpur City == Shahpur (Urdu: شاه پور) (alternatively Shāhpur or Shahapur) is a city located in the west of Punjab province, Pakistan. It lies on the Jhelum River. Its old name was Rampur and it had a majority Hindu population until the 17th century. The name changed after the arrival of a Sufi saint Shah Shams Sherazi from Delhi. And this was Tehsil of Sargodha now Tehsil is shifted to Shahpur Sadar. Basically it was much filled with sons of Syed Shah Shams Sherazi and grandsons means Syed's or Shah's Family and till now there are much strength of the family than other races. == History == === Shah Shams Sherazi === Syed Shah Shams Sherazi was the descendant of Shiite Imam Jaʿfar al-Sadiq. He was the son of Sher Ali, whose mausoleum is in Delhi. Syed Sher Ali had come to India with the Mughal Emperor Humayun. In fact, Humayun moved to Iran seeking help to regain his empire when he was overthrown by Farid Khan, popularly known as Sher Shah Suri. After a special prayer for his success, Sher Ali and his two sons, Syed Shah Shams and Syed Jalal Shah, were asked to accompany Humayun to Delhi as commander of the Iranian troops. On their way, they were informed that Sher Shah Suri died. Without any bloodshed in the battleground, Humayun took over and regained the power. Humayun gifted land to Syed Sher Ali in Shahpur and suburb and offered his son, Syed Shah Shams, the marriage proposal of a girl named Sultana from the Mughal family.Syed Shah Shams accepted the proposal. After the marriage the couple started living in Shahpur. Syed Shah Shams Sherazi were in the company of many warriors and Islamic preachers Hafiz e Quran Qazi-ul-Qaza(Justice) and sants(sufi) especially. They are lived in shah pur from that period. In later years, the couple was blessed with five sons(Syed Shahabdul Wahab Sherazi, Syed Shah Murtaza Sherazi, Syed Ahmad Sher Sherazi, Syed Shah Hassan Sherazi and Syed Shah Muhammad Sherazi). Syed Shah Shams and his family left Delhi and crossed the Jhelum River to settle in Rampur (presently known as Shahpur City). While his brother Syed Jalal Shah moved to a deserted area in Afghanistan and lived there. Jalalabad, now a city in Afghanistan, was named after him. Descendants of Syed Shah Shamas Sherazi currently reside in villages and town like Shahpur, Jhugian Syedan, Kotla Syedian, Syed Rahman Shah District Jehlum,Nabi Shah Bala,Rawal,Hafizabad,Bhera,District Sargodha,Sailkot, District Sahiwal and all around Pakistan, very few of them immigrated to Europe and North America and these are all known as Syed or Shah and Sherazi. |
