Notability

[edit]

Keep': We have added 5 independent references to prove notability of Shaheen Jafargholi as requested. CNN also talked about the boy for many times posing him as the main rival to Susan Boyle werldwayd (talk) 15:40, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete': Not enought worldwide achieves as Susan Boyle and won't reach 30 million viewers in a week at Youtube. eritrorulez (talk) 15:57, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Strong Keep why are we deleting this? This kid, as said above, got 5 references to prove that he's famous. He's actually got talent, rivaling Susan Boyle, please don't delete this..... Messiisking (talk) 22:18, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do not express your keep/delete rationales on this page. Instead, please see the AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shaheen Jafargholi. - Brian Kendig (talk) 19:22, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Strong Delete This article is written like a blatent advertisement, he has 15 minutes of fame, a web page like this is nonsense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.10.183.172 (talk) 20:37, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article doesn't bear any resemblance to an advertisement. Notability and advertisement are completely separate issues. Greg Grahame (talk) 21:10, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't worry about it - the IP commented (in the wrong place) long after the deletion debate closed. I guess they missed the preceding comment: "Do not express your keep/delete rationales on this page. Instead, please see the AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shaheen Jafargholi".

Date of Birth

[edit]

Do we have a source for this? There's nothing in any of the external links, and IMDB says he was born in 1996 (not the current 27/1/97).

As I understand it, he was 12 at the auditions which were around January/February time, and to be in year 7 (as the links say) he would normally need to be born between 1/9/96 and 31/8/97, and being 12 at the audition that would certainly narrow it down to Sept-Dec 96 and whatever had elapsed before the audition.

It fits (provided he didn't audition before then) but without some source for it it doesn't conform to WP:V which is important in case it's not true.

As it stands IMDB is more reputable and is in deference to what this article says - by averages given the dates he's more likely to be born in 1996 but there's just a year there. Chavster01 (talk) 18:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So Just Who Is Lovin' You?

[edit]

This article references the song "Who's Lovin' You" three times, crediting it in turn to Smoky Robinson, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5.

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Who's_Lovin'_You say's Smokey wrote it for the Miracles, but could someone who understands better than me sort out the confusion and give it a non-wp source?

FWIW Shaheen's performance at the MJ Memorial was stunning! —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Yowser (talkcontribs) 13:48, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jacksons Memorial

[edit]

Since I can't edit can someone put in the fact that Jackson saw him on BGT and invited hin to preform with him at his This is it tour in London. Ethnicity - citation needed

[edit]

Can we please have a proper citation for Shaheen's ethnicity? The cited references merely say that his father is Iranian, not Iranian Azeri as the lede has recently been changed to. He may well be Iranian Azeri, for all we know, but there is simply no cited evidence to back this up!! -- Arwel Parry (talk) 22:04, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the WP:OR claim. Unsourced or poorly sourced claims should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion per WP:BLP. --Kurdo777 (talk) 03:04, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
