The result of the move request was: moved to Sexual abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston for consistency (see the just-closed mass RM). (closed by non-admin page mover) Extraordinary Writ (talk) 06:32, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
Catholic Archdiocese of Boston sex abuse scandal → Sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Archdiocese of Boston – To match all the others. 103.21.175.59 (talk) 06:01, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose procedurally. I would prefer that all articles follow our naming convention for dioceses thus: Sex abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. There are some articles named inconsistently from the norm right now; if we're going to move this page let's move it right.
Support per nom.We generally do not use "Roman" for Catholic church titles, and none of the articles in the Category:Catholic Church sexual abuse scandals in the United States currently does; moving to the proposed title would be indeed consistent with other articles in that category. No such user (talk) 10:19, 29 November 2022 (UTC)- Consistent with which article?
- So as you can see, there is zero consistency presently, and what we need is a plenary WP:RM to rename them all to a consistent scheme at once, rather than piecemeal. Elizium23 (talk) 10:41, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- The glass is actually half full – there's much more than zero, since all articles begin with "Sexual abuse scandal in", and a "the" is necessary. I'm not sure whether "(arch)diocese" should be upper or lowercase. So the proposal will get us much closer to a WP:CONSISTENT state than the current title. - Support Sexual abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston for consistency with other articles in this RM. It is unfortunate that we ended up having two parallel RMs, but they should be harmonized. No such user (talk) 08:49, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
