Conversion to table format
Would there be any objection to changing this list to a table format like this?
Organization | Symbol | Description |
---|---|---|
Alpha Phi Omega | ΑΦΩ | coed national (with independent organizations in United States and the Philippines) |
Gamma Sigma Sigma | ΓΣΣ | coed national, primarily female |
I think it would give the template a cleaner, more standardized look. Thoughts? -- Absolon S. Kent (chat)

Kappa Kappa Psi
I removed Kappa Kappa Psi because it appears to be a band honor society, not a community service fraternity. --Emb021 20:59, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi need to be added.
Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma are a national honorary service fraternity and sorority dedicated to service to the band. Regardless of the fact that they serve the band rather than the community they are a greek service fraternity and sorority. I would add it myself but I'm not sure how... — Preceding unsigned comment added by JacqueITB (talk • contribs) 00:59, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Generally Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma are viewed as Honoraries or Professionals rather than Service. Baird's Manual of American College Fraternities is generally the references for American Greek Letter Organizations on this. I agree that it can be difficult to separate the Services vs. Honorary vs. Professionals. The list that KKY and TBS are on is Professional fraternities and sororities#Music.Naraht (talk) 01:16, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Delta Theta Tau
Delta Theta Tau National Sorority was founded in 1902 in Muncie, Indiana. It is the oldest non-sectarian sorority. Currently it is a community based women's service organization, but they are offering extention opportunities to college campuses as well.
- Epsilon Sigma Alpha is similar ESA quick facts. Would changing it to "primarily non-collegiate" satisfy?
- All of the other groups (APO, IK, OPA, GSS & SPURS) are 98% plus of their active membership is by College Students. Naraht 20:36, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
