[edit]

Any evidence of a connection between Colonel René Bertrand and Clay Shaw of JFK/Garrison fame? Hutcher (talk) 05:07, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History section would be easier to read if split into sub-sections

It appears to me that this article could use a more varied set of sources, for balance, especially with regards to Charles de Gaulle. I suggest looking to the French Wikipedia article on the same topic - https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Service_de_Documentation_Ext%C3%A9rieure_et_de_Contre-Espionnage . The section on Quebec independence reads like an opinion rather than balanced account, due to its clear dislike of de Gaulle 174.93.231.130 (talk) 00:40, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article say that SDECE was founded in 1946 as a successor to the wartime "Bureau central de renseignements et d'action (BCRA)".
In fact , SDECE was the direct successor of "Direction générale des études et recherches (DGER)".

DGER was the direct successor of "Direction générale des Services spéciaux [fr]" (English: Directorate General of Special Services, DGSS).

DGSS is a direct successor of BCRA.

The source for the claim it was a successor of BCRA is : Pomar, Norman & Allen, Thomas The Spy Book, New York: Random House, 1997 page 497.

If someone have an access to this source. I'd like this person read it to say what the source say ? The source say it is an indirected successor or a direct successor (In this case. The source is wrong about it) ?. Anatole-berthe (talk) 13:31, 26 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
