Canal of the Pharaohs

[edit]

this page is referenced from a page on King Sesostiris/Senusret (1878 BC to 1839 BC) which says he built the canal of the pharos. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Senusret_III

There's an unaccountd 1200 year differenc between that page and here as to when the canal was built.

The earlier date seems agreed to by Richard Pankhurst in "The Ethiopians, A History" Blackwell Publishing. And he cites, Brested 1905 pp183-4 "A History of Egypt"

btw Also, this article mentions a difference in height. Which was higher, the nile or the red sea?

He didn't build it.[1] and[2] Brested was going on ancient texts, but the archaeology says otherwise. I'll edit the article later. Doug Weller talk 17:09, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Royal titulary

[edit]

In the infobox there is a "show" link in the Royal titulary part; but nothing happens when you touch it. Not just this pharaoh. Other pharaohs are the same. Aminabzz (talk) 17:00, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Aminabzz - This usually happens because editors place hyphens in citations, which for reasons unbeknownst to me breaks display links in the article. I don't have that issue with this article, but have replaced the hyphens with endashes regardless. Mr rnddude (talk) 20:30, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New photo from Egyptian Museum

[edit]

I have a photo from Cairo which doesn't seem to be on here. Is there any interest in adding it or do you have enough photos. 82.19.231.27 (talk) 12:18, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
