The result of the move request was: Moved, snow that Eric Schmitt has become a U.S. Senator-elect — thus, there's now no primary topic for this title, as there's more than one U.S. Senator with the name. Paintspot Infez (talk) 17:59, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Object. Maybe after tuesday's election, as Eric Schmitt has not been elected as yet. Harrison Schmitt was also one of the two last people to walk on the Moon, making him doubly notable and possibly searched for under this title. Respectfully, the redirect suggested is for someone not presently a Senator or Senator-elect. Thanks Randy Kryn (talk) 11:43, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Randy Kryn: Yeah, I probably jumped gun. However, I don't think it will be hard to Eric Schmitt to outdo the notability as "Senator Schmitt" when he wins tonight. So I don't object to the discussion being started on my part, but I would think voting now is pointless. --Quiz shows19:58, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose right now but we really need to see whether Eric S. Schmitt is in fact elected. Once he becomes a senator things change significantly. Maybe invoke wp:IAR and just put this RM on hold for a few days? Andrewa (talk) 13:09, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support. He won the election; reliable sources have called the race. I guess technically he's still the senator-elect and not senator, but also from another point of view he was a state senator so Senator Schmitt isn't technically incorrect either.
