Hyphen?

Should be "Self-contained breathing apparatus" (with a hyphen)? -- JHunterJ 01:08, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Pressures

Pressures are 2216 to 4500. Our departments old MSA Low pressure systems were 2216psi, where our new Survive-air are high pressure 4500psi bottles -- M249SAW 14:10, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Fire Service slant

This article is heavily weighted towards firefighting SCBA usage, but there are many other professions that use SCBA. It would be beneficial for Wikipedia if someone with more knowledge on the topic could spread this article out into those other areas of usage. Incidentally, since SCBA is not fire service specific, does this article really belong in the Fire Service Project? Fjbfour 22:49, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

The WP:FD project is simply a group of people who are stewards of the article, but other projects can also watch and develop this article. SCBA, while not specific to firefighting, are best known as a tool of the fire service. I encourage others to develop other uses within the article. --Daysleeper47 18:02, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Safety specifications

I removed the following section from the Safety specifications heading because it doesn't fit without a picture. Once a picture has been found it can be re-added. 150.156.213.197 (talk) 20:38, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

ADD Wiki approved Spare Cylinder image here. The photograph shows eight DOT compliant breating gas/breathing air cylinders used with open-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Notice the carbon composite pressurized vessel cylinder material that makes up the external walls of the high pressure cylinders and the black or red cylinder neck valve assemblies. These cylinders are positioned for future maintenance work concerning DOT hydrostatic requalification of the cylinder. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.156.213.197 (talk) 20:36, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
