[edit]I've copied some stuff from the net. We can copyedit it :)
- we are taught abt democracy
- Elections held at the Class Representative level as well as the General Secretary of the Student's Executive level are held with full campaigning and secret ballot.
- SPV generates awareness of the Democratic process in India by conducting annual school Elections for the following positions:
- Class Monitors (Representatives) :Students vote for the Class Representatives of their respective classes.
- The General Secretary of the Student's Executive Council: The GS is elected by the Class Representatives of every class.
- What is unique about this much-awaited election process is that students are required to excercise their right to vote through the system of Secret Ballot.
- The campaigning time before the actual elections for the various student body positions are held is marked with a tremendous amount of excitement and gaeity in the air.Students campaign zealously for their future class and school leaders and fill the corridors of the school with their boisterous and vociferous shouts of support.
- abt merit vs. 1, 2 etc.
At SPV we do not believe in giving prizes to the students .There is no ranking system.Instead, the concept of Merit Certificates is the yardstick used to measure a student's calibre and performance.MC's are given to students for their outstanding performance both in the area of academics and in the field of extra-curricular activities.
- the houses
- Sports Houses:
- * SHAKTI
- * JYOTI
- * NEETI
- * PRAGATI
SPV has a whole Activity/Sports week
- students executive
- hindi medium schoool
- its sooo unique
- Teacher's Day'
- Both the teaching and non-teaching staff look forward to this day with great eagerness as this is the day when the students take charge of all the responsibilities in the school ! While some students play "teacher"by volunteering to teach subjects of their choice in different classes, others discharge the duties of the cleaning staff in school.
- Adult responsiblities are learnt by students in an enjoyable manner.Such a role playing also inculcates the value of dignity of labour in students.
Besides the usual subjects, the students are taught four languages, English being the medium of education from the 6th grade onwards. Hindi and Sanskrit are mandatory till the 8th grade. In the 9th grade, students are asked to chose between Hindi and Sanskrit. There is also a fourth language that is offered in SPV.It could be a choice between Tamil,Gujarati,Urdu or Bengali.
After completing 10-th grade, students can choose to major in either one of the four streams :
- Humanities
- Computer Science
- Biology or Pre-Medicene
- Business and Commerce
SPV was the first school in India to have introduced Spanish as an optional language to be taken in lieu of Geography in the 11th and 12th grades.

[edit]Anyone remember the school song? I have been trying to recall, but it has been so long.
"Aao apne vidyalay ka gaayein geet mahan hum.."
O M Y GOD MY SCHOOL IS IN WIKIPEDIA

Suggested format from Project:Schools
[edit]- History — Describe the history of the school, including noteworthy milestones in its development.
- Campus — Describe the overall shape and size of the campus. Mention any famous buildings or stadia and their architects.
- Students — Statistics on students, size of student body (always state the date when the information is current and be cautious about having too many statistics that will need to be updated frequently). Mention of individual current students or individual student's achievement while at the high school is not suggested, unless they are well recognized (noted) outside of the school.
- Faculty — State the number of faculty members, statistics on faculty, student-to-teacher ratio, etc. Distinguish between tenure/nontenured, full- and part-time (if possible). Names of noteworthy (e.g. award-winning, published) faculty of the past can be mentioned. Generally timeless information (such as published teachers) is preferred over transitory information (like the exact number of math teachers at a point in time).
- Extracurricular activities — Mention the sports team(s) of the school and what is notable about them. Here is also a good place to mention specific traditions of school, like students' union/student council activities, a student newspaper, clubs, regular activities, etc. The heading may be changed accordingly in regard to the importance of sports, clubs, traditions, students' unions etc. For example, alternative headings could be Students' Union, Sports and Traditions or Students' Union Activities. Mention significant championships for the sports teams.
- Curriculum — If the curriculum of the school is especially unique or notable, mention why here. For instance, if the high school is called a culinary academy, elaborate on this here.
- Notable alumni — Bulleted list of alumni that are notable (outside the school). Mention the graduation year and give a short description why they are famous. Also, include an annotation to show that they did indeed attend the school.
- References — Provide verifiable sources of information about the school, that are independent of the school itself. This may include newspaper and magazine articles on the school. For private schools, an accreditation body or government source should be provided to show the organization is a legitimate school. An article should not rely solely on what its subject has to say about itself (as with any article in Wikipedia). If a resource is online (which is ideal) consider that potential it will go offline (newspaper's often allow free reading only for recent stories) and provide sufficient information that the story could still be found (author, publication, full article title, date, etc).
- External links — Give a link to the website of the school, preferably one in the English language. You may also include other informational links that may interest readers, but who's contents might be beyond the scope of inclusion in the article.

[edit]Phrases like these don't belong in an encyclopedia:

- "Students campaign zealously for their future class and school leaders and fill the corridors of the school with their boisterous and vociferous shouts of support"
- "SPV has developed an award system that lays emphasis on excellence and quality and not on cutthroat competition"

- "in fields as diverse as"
- "Both the teaching and non-teaching staff look forward to this day with great eagerness as this is the day when the students take charge of all the responsibilities in the school !"
- "Adult responsiblities are learnt by students in an enjoyable manner."
- "Such a role playing also inculcates the value of dignity of labour in students."
Apparently some of this was taken straight from the website. Was there even permission to do this?
