Pt. Raghunath Murmu:

Pt. Raghunath Murmu, a resident of 'Dandabas' near Rairangpur of this district is said to be the father of 'Alchiki' Script. In 1925 by inventing this script he brought about a renaissance in Santali literature. From phonetic point of view this 'Alchiki' is suitable for Austric language and it is scientific.

The Santali literature, Pt. Raghunath Murmu has enriched the Santali literature with unfailing creations like Drama, Child literature, Poem, Arithmetic and Grammar using that 'Alchiki' language. The book 'Alchemed' like Madhu Barnabodha is very useful. Besides, 'Parsipaha' a book meant for the children is considered very very worth reading.

Biduchandan, Dalegodhan and Kherawal Veera studded with tribal song and dance are said to be three jewels of Santali literature 'Hital', 'Lakachar Serenja' based on tribal cultural renaissance are the valuable creations of that Pt. Raghunath Murmu.

The book 'Bakhera' written by him is the reflection of tribal religion. This book abounds in tribal hymns and verses. Apart from these, 'Ranala' the tribal grammar and 'Elakha Patan', the arithmetic books have earned him fame.

In 1939, Pt. Raghunath Murmu exhibited his hand made 'Alchiki' press in an exhibition at Baripada and he could impress the then Maharaja Pratap Chandra Bhanja Deo and in return he committed its implementation. Santali language, literature and script are widely acclaimed in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Assam. Pt. Murmu's dream has come true.

In the main piece, it is written: Santali has 21 consonants, not counting the 10 aspirated stops which occur almost only in Indo-Aryan loanwords...

After having examined Bodding's dictionary many time over it is obvious that the aspirated stops are also massively present in expressive words in the language (onomatopoeias and many others) which would have found few matches in IA loans. 69.114.46.208 (talk) 21:05, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Citation of Reliable Sources

[edit]

Please keep in mind to cite from reliable sources only and keep the article content up-to-date.It should also be noted that some citations on the page are invalid or make no sense. If you have any doubts, consider going through this #REDIRECT WP:CITENEED Agent.registry (talk) 10:31, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That's no excuse for messy editing. The "multiple issues"-tag is used as a container for multiple issues (see Template:Multiple issues). Currently, there is only one: {{Unreliable sources}}. –Austronesier (talk) 10:44, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Agent.registry Your disruptive edits have been reverted by 3 users, WilliamThweatt, Austronesier and me. It is high time you should be talking here instead of edit warring. Besides, your edits doesn't make any sense. Telling you again, the "Multiple issues" tag is NOT meant to write your own problems with the article. It is to merge other maintenance templates, if there are more than one. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:21, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There are more than one issues if you had cared to go through the article. -unreliable sources. -outdated demographic data -unstructured format in the morphology section. -also,there are many sections which can be merged together. -it has many more issues if you can address. Agent.registry (talk) 10:09, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Multiple issues is used as a container tag for multiple issues at the lead. It is not for writng your own issues. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:27, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You should double check on what it is before complaining..These basic things need to be discussed rather than removing the tag. Agent.registry (talk) 10:51, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can you understand basic English? Go through Template:Multiple issues. It is a container template, to hold more than one maintenance tag. That's its only purpose. It is not used to put texts. Talk page is for discussion where specific things need to be addressed, not the article page itself. You are making the article look like a blog, adding gibberish at the top. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:03, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You need to do yoga..It will help you. Agent.registry (talk) 11:18, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Agent.registry: I'd suggest you use the preview button first before publishing changes. Or was it your intention to evoke a complete copy of the page WP:EW here?Austronesier (talk) 14:28, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It has been claimed without further specification that some "citations on the page are invalid or make no sense", further a "Unreliable sources"-tag has been added. However, as of now not a single citation is specifically tagged as an "unreliable source". For this reason, I will remove the "Unreliable sources"-tag as an unfounded until we actually are informed about which source is not reliable. –Austronesier (talk) 10:52, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Which Santali vowel is ɘ supposed to be?

[edit]

The vowel ɘ occurs twice in this article, but is not any of the vowels mentioned in the phonology section. What should it be? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdiabhon Sdiamhon (talkcontribs) 22:18, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Sdiabhon Sdiamhon: Well spotted. Appararently, it should be regular schwa. I will fix it, and later try to add citations for the undersourced section "Morphology". –Austronesier (talk) 09:40, 10 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"promotion" label ungrounded

[edit]

Unlike the label asking for referrences, the label "promotional content" is mistaken - the section thus marked mentions only writings of authors long dead, and gives a link to a free pdf of the text of one. That's no advertizing, IMHO. 85.163.75.9 (talk) 01:25, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

These documents seem to be embedded in the following document. I'm not sure how to replace the citations.

I suggest using archive.org to store the original document (which also appear to be available on Scribd) for whoever updates it. tvleavitt (talk) 17:12, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
