Sandes (app) → Sandes – More apt name since it is not just an application. Note the requested target is a redirect to this page. — Anoop (talk) 12:00, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Hard to see this as primary topic over Sandes (surname). 162.208.168.92 (talk) 13:46, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- The product name is taken from hindi word संदेश which means message and which spell in english as sandes. — Anoop (talk) 16:01, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Sandes, is a surname. People with the surname include:
- Arthur Sandes (1793–1832), British commanding officer of Rifle Battalions
- Carlos Matías Sandes (born 1984), Argentine-Italian professional basketball player
- Flora Sandes (1876–1956), British woman, served as officer, Royal Serbian Army in World War I
- Elise Sandes (1861–1934), Irish founder of welfare movement for soldiers
- John Sandes (1863–1938), Australian journalist and author
- Rafael Sandes (born 1987), Brazilian goalkeeper
- Ryan Sandes (born 1982), South African trail runner
- The Right Rev. Stephen Sandes (died 1842), Church of Ireland bishop
- Victor Sandes (born 1992), Brazilian footballer
- Major Arthur Fleming-Sandes (1894–1961), English recipient of the Victoria Cross
- But this is an (app), you'd expect (app) on an article about an app. What's the problem? In ictu oculi (talk) 16:24, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
On the early development stage it was just and app as development progress more and more services are adding to it thus making it a platform. So is it wrong to rename article to reflect that. Also https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Sandes redirect to this which was actually a duplicate of the current article. I am just asking to rename article to it's duplicate article. Please help. — Anoop (talk) 18:36, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- The issue is whether this page is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. There are generally two criteria: Usage (ie. pageviews, which favours this page) and long-term significance (which, IMO, favours the surname.) If consensus finds that this page is the primary topic, then your move request goes as proposed. If not, then the article title needs a disambiguator. I propose Sandes (software) as the title in this case, since, as you said, there's more to it than the app. Line (software) and Telegram (software) are a good comparison. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 23:44, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- Adding software will undermine it's value in long term because this platform is going to be the host of most of the government digital services. l don't have a valid document to prove my point because it's still under development. — Anoop (talk) 01:26, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. If anything, the surname is the primary topic. Sandes should not redirect to the app. It should be a disambiguation page. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:44, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Should probably be a DAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:33, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
- I've converted what was the duplicate article and then a redirect into a DAB since that appears to be consensus. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:35, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
