Railroad and Wharf earlier than 1864
[edit]While it may be true that the SF and Alameda was incorporated as indicated, both appear on an official Coast Survey map dated 1859. (https://www.davidrumsey.com/maps6080.html) It seems that the railroad and wharf were already up and running by 1859 even though the railroad wasn't yet incorporated. - Looking at a number of other sources, I think I have an explanation for that 1859 map. It's a copy on the Rumsey website and I'm guessing that it may have been used as a working map by its original owners who probably added the lines of the Oakland and Alameda railroads and their respective wharves at a later date.Tmangray (talk) 04:46, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
