Before moving it into draft space
[edit]@Hasan AB123, Another Believer, Fyunck(click), Valereee, Gerda Arendt, JarrahTree, Bovineboy2008, and Grimes2: Hi, I am pinging all of you because Hasan AB123 asked you on your talk pages to move the draft to the article space. I think that there are a few things that should be done beforehand. If you are busy, please go on about your business, but thanks for checking this!
Here are the items that I think would be beneficial:
- Creating the Wikidata item. I will go ahead & create the Wikidata item & start adding properties
- Add {{Authority control}} to the draft. It will only pick up the Worldcat Identities ID,
np-jacobs, samuel posin
, when it promoted to the article space, but having that template in place is always a nice visual queue about notability. - Add categories either commented out like
<!--[[Category:Time (magazine) people]]-->
or by using a colon in just after the opening square brackets like[[:Category:Time (magazine) people]]
. Either way, this prevents the inclusion of the draft in the actual category & can be adjusted immediately upon promotion to the article space. I suggest looking at Edward Felsenthal to get started on appropriate categories. - Samuel Jacobs's middle name is Poisin. I triangulated this. Samuel Jacobs '09 indicated that his thesis title is Walter Weyl and the Progressive Mind: The Promise and Problems of the New Democracy ".& the Worldcat item for this, OCLC 961833488 & the WorldCat identities record, lists his name as "Samuel Posin Jacobs". Let's work this into the draft.
I will start working on the Wikidata item presently. Peaceray (talk) 17:28, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

- Is this guy even notable? All the sources are from the companies he works for talking about his promotions. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:11, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
- That criteria would be found under WP:JOURNALIST. There was a failed proposal, WP:Notability (journalists) that might be relevant reading. It has been submitted & is currently appearing in Wikipedia:WikiProject Journalism/Article alerts &Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/Article alerts, so it might be best to wait for those folks to evaluate it.
- Given the management level at Time magazine, if Jacobs is not yet notable, I do not think it would be long before he is. Peaceray (talk) 19:46, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Fyunck(click): I note here that there are seven citations from six sources: Adweek, Politico, Folio, Talking New Media, Media Post, & Women's Wear Daily. Less than half of current citations are directly from sources with which Jacobs has a close relationship (employer or university). Peaceray (talk) 16:31, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- And those are routine coverage announcing a change of jobs. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:38, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
