Images

[edit]

A relative of someone who was present at the disaster has donated 10 photos of it to Wikipedia. They are visible below. Someone who is more familiar with this subject, or simply is interested in integrating these images into the article, please do so. Until then, they are safe enough on the talk page, I suppose. References

[edit]

As an addition to the "Aftermath" section of the article, I just added the name and location of the cemetery where victims of the disaster are buried. This information is based off an article published on September 12, 2008 by the Asbury Park Press titled "Historian Disputes shipwreck Burial Claim". I've tried to add the reference to the main wikipedia page, but for some reason the references on this entry are not working correctly. I'm not experienced enough with html to figure out what the problem is. Can someone help? Profstein2 (talk) 11:50, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've just gone through and cleaned up the references generally, to use the Citation templates and to link correctly. Unfortunately, the Asbury Park Press has pulled that article down and sent it to their archives, which are paid-access only. I've left the original link in place, even though it's dead, for future reference, but it could probably be pulled down without hurting anything unless it causes problems for the {{Citation}} template. Literary mention

Mickey Spillane, I, The Jury (1947), p.34: "In the window behind him was one of those news releases they plant in stores facing the street that are made up of a big photo with a caption below it. There were two. One was indiscernible, but the other was the burning of the Morro Castle. And the Morro Castle went up in flames eight years ago. 31.17.251.121 (talk) 12:36, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers

[edit]

The article says 137 dead at the top - but later 135.

Any idea how many were aboard ? -- Beardo (talk) 05:44, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
