Umm...
[edit]Hello to Mark Chung: I enjoyed your article on SMK Semera, and hope that you can provide more information on the school, its curriculum, and other information related to its role in the community of Semera. Also: what are the languages of instruction? A photo of the school would be appreciated. Additionally, can you provide the year of the Cholera epidemic when the great number of people died? Thanks -Harryzilber. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harryzilber (talk • contribs) 23:15, March 28, 2008
Speedy Deletion?
[edit]Why? It's not a biography about a real person, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content!
Please kindly refer to "Note that books, albums, software etc., or schools, are not eligible under this criterion. See CSD A7." just on the third line. Furthermore, is associated to List of schools in Sarawak, Malaysia. Give me a GOOD reason why it should be deleted. If it should be deleted, do you think all the schools in List of schools in Sarawak, Malaysia should be deleted too?
Please reply here and here. Thanks.

[edit]Quality improvement project for the SMK Semera High School article
[edit]After a brief review of the article's edit history, and a thorough reading of the earlier proposal to delete this article (AfD), which can be found here, I have reinstated the curriculum previously removed by another editor, and am also providing some suggestions on article improvements below.
First, the previous removal of the section on the high school's curriculum was unwarranted and in no way compliant to Wikipedia policy, i.m.h.o., since a high school's curriculum is central to its basic educational function and essential for comparative analysis in pedagogy worldwide. I've reformatted the various sub-sections into column style but highly recommend that Wikipedia editors in the area (including the school faculty, students and alumni who can assist them) add more detail to the course names to avoid the impression that its only a 'listing'. Since this article is in English, its also essential that each of the course names includes a translation into English -and then a brief description of what the course accomplishes. This is especially useful to pedagogues who can review the essence of the teaching method in this geographical area.
The above improvements may also benefit the Semera Village and the SMK Semera High School if it has not already been 'twinned' with a similar school and town in another country, which is commonly performed in many Western countries as projects in international cooperation. Having a complete and attractive article of the school, its accomplishments and sponsors may encourage a community in another country to twin-up with the Semera school and community, with mutual benefits.
Other Important Improvements:
- Improved references and footnotes are essential for this article. Find print news articles or impartial website news articles on the school and cite them correctly as references, even if they are in Malay, Indonesian, or another local language. Contact me if you need assistance with that. Impartial secondary sources are important for the integrity of your webpage, and are absolutely essential when discussing living people, which occurs frequently in the article;
- add a photo of the school by uploading its image to Wikipedia, and then adding an [Image] link in the article. A group photo with the schools staff standing in front would be even more attractive in this article. Contact me if you need assistance with the uploading and licensing issues;
- provide an English translation for your school's 'Mission and Vision' motto, and also find out what year the cholera epidemic struck the local community since that's important to the article as its mentioned relative to the school's name;
- connect this article with any similar ones in other language Wikipedias (such as Malay or Indonesian); for example this article's link in the English Wiki namespace is en:SMK_Semera. If there are similar articles on SMK Semera in local language Wikipedias, it (or they) should be linked onto this one by adding a Wikilink such as: [id:XXXXXXX] (where 'id' is the language and 'XXXXXXX' represents the article's name) at the bottom of the English article's webpage. Contact me if you need assistance with that.

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
