Use in other countries

[edit]

The X2-train has also been used in America (Washington D.C., New York City and Chicago), and is still used in China. See the links below:

That is discussed in X 2000#Overseas appearances as it traveled under that brand name at the time. Slambo (Speak) 11:21, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tilting mechanism

[edit]

I just read a good article about the X2's tilting mechanism at the web site idg.se. You who edit or read this Wikipedia article might be interested in that article. The article is in Swedish but I guess that some of you who read or edit this article do understand Swedish: Korglutningssystemet håller dig bekvämare på spåret

A reminder to all contributors (users)

[edit]

A reminder to all Wikipedia:users who have contributed to this article. In English one uses a decimal POINT and a comma to mark off (a) thousand(s), not the other way around, as was the case in this article. Peter Horn User talk 20:13, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Let me illustrate: Wheelbase = 2,900 mm (114.17 in) versus 2.900 mm (0.11 in), the latter is just hillarious. Peter Horn User talk 20:29, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Further: it's not a convention which is specific to this article - it applies to all articles, and is covered by Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers#Decimal points. --Redrose64 (talk) 21:14, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How true, how true. Now there is a huge job finding just the locomotive articles, etc. Peter Horn User talk 21:25, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with X 2000

[edit]

Same train but with two different article names? Worth merging X 2000 into SJ X2 as it is a more commonly used name. Nightfury 08:40, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll start by saying I know very little about Swedish railways, but the one thing I'd check before merging is if X 2000 was intended as a explanation of the high speed rail brand (amenities, stations/lines served) and SJ X2 is about a specific trainset used for X 2000 services. (An example of what I mean: The German Intercity-Express brand verses ICE 1 trainsets used for Intercity-Express.)--The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 05:40, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

x2000 is the common name everyone knows for the x2 train since it's the name SJ promoted throughout the years. X2 is the actual name of the train, and the x2000 article definitely isn't about the brand itself at the moment. I'm not a wikipedia editor, but I do know a bit about trains. I'd say merge the 2 articles into X2, and then write that article about the brand x2000 (linking to x2 since most people call it x2000).194.71.5.132 (talk) 09:06, 9 December 2019 (UTC)Thobias[reply]

WP:COMMONNAME suggests that we should use the name that the train is best known by, regardless of whether this is the official name or not. Therefore, I suggest merging both articles to X 2000 where the train and its related brand can be discussed in one place. Klbrain (talk) 09:52, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
