[edit]

This page uses too many value statements:

  • "the company is now part of a financial powerhouse"
  • "With offices in 23 countries, SIX Telekurs combines the advantages of global presence and local know-how."

Advertisement on Wikipedia is expressly forbidden. --Acolombi (talk) 22:10, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed these. Thanks -- Rgnewbury (talk) 10:23, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vendor-oriented

[edit]

The article is visibly vendor-oriented. It lacks a paragraph History (the renaming from Telekurs to SIX Telekurs is not even explained), another on actual product offerings, a third on Main competitors...Bmathis (talk) 08:17, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you mean by "vendor oriented". It is an article about SIX Telekurs and will naturallly be oriented towards the business fo the division therefore. Please be more specific if you think I have missed something. (please also compare to reuters and Thomson_Reuters. More generic information on data vending can be found at financial data vendors
I added a section on competitors and separated out the hisotry part (which was already there, but not completely clear.)
I have not added anything about services provided. In fact the company sells data, not services and in any case, advertising is not allowed - and this is not the point of the article anyway. Thanks for the comments. Rgnewbury (talk) 09:51, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. However could you enrich the article by answering questions such as :
  • Why did not Telekurs attempt to diversify into electronic trading or risk-management software like Reuters or Bloomberg did?
  • Why did not Telekurs take over Infotec and emerge as the sole Swiss data vendor? Does not Telekurs suffer from its size compared to that of its few, but much bigger, competitors?
  • How dependent is Telekurs from the Swiss giants UBS and Credit Suisse for its turnover?
  • Why the renaming, and why SIX? What is the underlying message towards the market?
Note an article has existed in French on Fininfo but it had been suppressed because it could be perceived as an advertisement. However, such an article is missing. If you know the subject could you contribute to it either by a dedicated article or by inserting a chapter in the SIX Telekurs article? (on the other hand, you could remove the list of their locations)

Hi Bruno,
I'm not sure how useful it is to discuss why the company did NOT do something. Comments on the company's size and turnover dependencies are not encyclopaedic. Much of this information can be found in annual reports on the SIX Group website (http://www.six-group.com) The renaming to SIX is explained in the table. What might be needed is a page on SIX Group which would cover the meaning of the name etc. On the other hand, the list of countries is useful as it shows the global nature of the division. Hope that helps. -- Rgnewbury (talk) 15:07, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
