Some preliminary S/2018 J 4 notes
[edit]I've done some quick investigation[original research] into S/2018 J 4's orbit before others publish more details about it:
- Kozai resonant orbit, arg. of periapse librates about 270° wrt ecliptic, opposite to Carpo's arg. of periapse libration about 90°.
- Fixed 270° arg. of periapse keeps S/2018 J 4's perijove always below Jupiter and apojove above Jupiter, whereas Carpo's fixed 90° arg. of periapse keeps its perijove always above Jupiter and apojove below Jupiter. (see orbit diagram)
- S/2018 J 4 approx. mean elements from 1900-2100: a = 16347800 km, i = 49.8°, e = 0.209
