Chillun

[edit]

I think the article might benefit from a clarification that chillun represents a Black/Southern pronunciation of children. It wasn't obvious to me what it means (I guessed it, but had to look it up to confirm) and that is probably the case for many more non-Americans. Lennart97 (talk) 11:36, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Lennart97, fair point. . Maybe a link to https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/chillun? Do you off the top of your head know how that's accomplished? —valereee (talk) 18:42, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, that would work; [[wikt:chillun|chillun]] gives chillun. Lennart97 (talk) 18:44, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, done! And thanks for allowing me to be lazy. :) —valereee (talk) 18:47, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You're most welcome; and thank you too! Lennart97 (talk) 18:49, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@InedibleHulk, why the removal of the redlink? I was thinking it might be article-worthy? —valereee (talk) 23:15, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe some day. For now, it's not there, adds nothing, looks conspicuous. Is a folk opera different from a musical? InedibleHulk (talk) 23:26, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@InedibleHulk, that's the problem. I don't know. I'm hoping that by redlinking, I'm informing other editors -- who do know -- that there might be a missing article worth investigating, maybe one they never even thought might be missing. Redlinks are good. —valereee (talk) 23:51, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we have two ostensible unknown experts blacklinked in the lead, and they define this show as a musical drama (as does Wikipedia's voice in Development). Could easily be pipelinked to musical theatre, would explain more (and right away). Anyway, do what you will, but when you're done, don't miss out on Rock & Rule; it's folkstravaganstic! InedibleHulk (talk) 00:04, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And in the body they also call it a folk opera. I'll add the page number. —valereee (talk) 00:38, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And I'll pipelink "musical drama". InedibleHulk (talk) 00:52, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fistbump —valereee (talk) 01:32, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
