Citation found re Lewis' vital dates

I found a citation on the Oxford African American Studies Center website which states that he was born in 1904 and died in 1961. The article on the Center's website is subscription only so I don't have access to it. This would give us justification for his vital dates and thus allow the categories to be changed since he is no longer living. If someone could access the article and cite it for the WP article, I would appreciate it.
