Acronyms

The Manual of Style recommends to "avoid making up new abbreviations, especially acronyms". Many of the acronyms in the article do not appear to be sourced, and aren't used in the articles on the individual subjects. I've left them for now, but this could use some follow-up by editors more familiar with the reference material. Reidgreg (talk) 16:14, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
