- A lot of citations in the lead: articles should not mention things in the lead which aren't then mentioned (and expanded upon) in the main body, and that's where they should be cited really. See MOS:LEADCITE.
- "the Midlands in Ireland" links?
- "that the provincial boundary" provincial is overlinked.
- "over 7 metres deep" convert to feet.
- "lake is 154 feet or 47 metres.[3]" stick with Imperial first/metric second or Metric first/Imperial second throughout.
- "South-East Leitrim meets the west-south-west of County Cavan" links?
- Is a map available for this so we can visualise where in Ireland this lake is found?
- What are the co-ordinates for the lake?
- "by the following small towns" just "three" rather than "the following".
- "the Barony of Tullyhunco.[8] The" Barony is overlinked.
- "Killeshandra to Carrigallen" -> "Killeshandra-to-Carrigallen"
- "The easiest public access" easiest according to whom?
- "links Arvagh with the townland of" both overlinked.
- "is quite popular" what does "quite" mean here?
- "particularly popular" repetitive "popular".
- "the L1524" L is overlinked.
- "connecting Arvagh with the townland of" both overlinked.
- "small 'demesne', while" what's a demesne?
- Links are all bare URLs so need formatting in such a way that they don't succumb to WP:LINKROT.
That's it, on hold for now. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 15:35, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- Laggan Boy are you going to address these issues? I see you have other GANs which I'd be happy to review but only if you respond to the comments here in a timely manner. Cheers. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 14:46, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
Aye, sorry for being so slow to reply. I'm flat 'oot' at the moment with two young 'wains'!! 😅 Thank you for taking the time to go through the article. All of the above are very valid points, to be fair. Have to say, I'd be delighted if you'd review the other 'GANs'. As regards the easiest public access, I think that's what is said in the various online information about angling at the lake. I think so anyhow.
I personally had a bit of an unpleasant experience about a fortnight or three weeks ago when I, very inadvertently, trespassed on some private land beside Rockfield Lake. The local landowner was furious with me, despite my apologies!! So I don't want anyone else having the same experience!! Hence my over-emphasising of 'public access' to the lake. Laggan Boy (talk) 23:13, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
Also, I haven't, as yet, been able to source a proper map of the lake for this wee article. Laggan Boy (talk) 23:16, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
And a 'demesne' has a very exact meaning amongst architectural historians and historians of the landscape here in Ireland. Laggan Boy (talk) 23:18, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
- Laggan Boy ok, well let me know when you're ready for me to re-visit this article, and once done, I'll take a look at your other nominations. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 20:55, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Aye, good man. Thank you. Laggan Boy (talk) 06:28, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
I am having difficulty getting a map for the article 'Rockfield Lake'. I'm not sure how one does that. It would be great to have a map of the lake, or a map of Ireland showing where the lake is exactly. Laggan Boy (talk) 16:14, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- Have you had a look at Wikipedia:Maps for Wikipedia? Plenty of resources and help available. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 16:45, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- Laggan Boy another fortnight gone, any progress on this or should I call time on it for now? The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 07:22, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
Aye, call time on this. It will take me some time to remedy this article. Thanks again for all your help and advice. I really appreciate it. 😁 Laggan Boy (talk) 06:14, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
