Spouse portraits?
[edit]Since when are we adding portrait photos of spouses to biographical articles of this kind? I will remove this one again unless someone can show me that there has been a change of policy. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 19:28, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- SergeWoodzing, Could you link to a policy that says this is forbidden?, The image has been there since the age of dawn and no one thus far as cared. Maybe an RFC would be a better approach as opposed to edit warring. Cheers. –Davey2010Talk 20:47, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- Checking on why I have had this impression for over 12 years. Will get back to it here. Does not seem to illustrate an article about Mr. Williams to have a solo portrait of his wife, and my impression is that we normally do not do that. How many marriages can a person have had, and how many solo portraits of their spouses can be added? Shouldn't the line be drawn at None? In this case, the wife does not need promotion here since she has her own article with another of the cropped versions of this photo there. That should suffice, I think. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 16:13, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- A better crop has solved the problem, methinks. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 16:49, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- Plenty of articles have images with spouses in and so I see no valid reason why it should be excluded here. To my knowledge if a person's had more than one wife/husband then either their current is added or most notable. Having an image is not promotion and I would kindly suggest you read WP:PROMOTION.
- I see you have since replaced the image which is indeed an improvement over the former one. Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 22:23, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

The Days by Avicii
[edit]Avicii was one of the biggest DJs in the world, and his collaboration with Robbie Williams in 2014 is pretty unknown considering both artists’ popularity (And in my opinion is too great of a song to not be listed in Robbie Williams’ page). I believe it’s a disservice not to at least mention the song. 107.123.21.13 (talk) 16:30, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
- It's mentioned at The Days (song); if you think it should be here, too, you can add it. Please ensure you have a reliable published source availabe and add this at the same time. Wikipedia works on the basis of using such press sources (not chat/fanzone forums/social media, etc.,) which are then deemed as important-enough for the journalist(s) to have written about the significance of the song. Thank you.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 17:47, 14 August 2022 (UTC)

For the 'INFLUENCES' tab: The 'Pet Shop Boys' were also a big influence on Robbie Williams as a teen, most notably with their 1990 album 'Behaviour', which contains a song he once referred to as being his all-time favourite song, which is "Nervously".
source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71Uj82o2jso MylcaBD (talk) 17:37, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
Not done: He doesn't mention "Nervously" at all in the video. The PSB song he does mention, at the very end of the video, is "Friendly Fire", which AFAIK is a B-side to various single releases of "I Get Along" from the Release album. He says the song is "just one of for me lyrically one of the best songs that's been written in the last 10 years", not that it's his "all time favourite". Finally, the Behaviour (Pet Shop Boys album) article says that it's "Jealousy" that is "one of Robbie Williams' favourite Pet Shop Boys songs" from Behaviour. Xan747 ✈️ 🧑✈️ 19:11, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Yes sorry! Should've specified that the video doesn't talk about 'Nervously' but rather about the whole of 'Behaviour'. For the 'Nervously' song, I found it on this website below, however I have not done further research so I do not have the sources: http://www.geowayne.com/newDesign/lists/influencedby.htm
- Although, the owner of this blog is very open so I could send an email asking for the sources if you want. MylcaBD (talk) 21:06, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, now I understand. The blog post is not an acceptable source. See WP:RS for acceptable sourcing guidelines. I don't think we can even use the YouTube video you provided because, even though it says that it's an excerpt from the documentary "Pet Shop Boys - A Life in Pop", we can't actually verify that is the case. Amount of records sold worldwide correction

- What I think should be changed (format using {{textdiff}}):
− | Five of his albums have also topped the Australian albums chart, and has sold | + | Five of his albums have also topped the Australian albums chart, and has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. |
- Why it should be changed:
In the Netflix cab ride clip with Robbie Williams at YouTube, Robbie corrected the interviewer when she said that you have sold 75 million records worldwide. Robbie said it is more than that, over 100 million. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JnUL4nsZA4&t=497s)

Relationship date correction
[edit]Currently, the article says: "In May 2006, Williams started dating American actress Ayda Field." This would put him in the middle of the Close Encounters Tour. They actually met in January 2007 after the tour and the release of Rudebox. Source: Reveal (2017) Laclavande (talk) 11:44, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
Speculation about sexuality
[edit]Is it necessary to include a reference and link to an article speculating about the subject's sexuality when there is no evidence to back it up? For example, Williams has never spoken about possibly being bisexual or dating men. If that were the case, it could be included, but there is no evidence of this. Many public figures have had their sexuality queried by tabloids but it's surely not necessary to include these instances? 105.242.37.128 (talk) 19:36, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
