Yorkshire?
[edit]I don't think the Etherow is ever in Yorkshire; according to the OS map the stream (as it crosses the border) is the Salters Brook and isn't named as the Etherow for another km. But if there's some other basis for the Yorkshire project taking an active interest, feel free to revert me again. --VinceBowdren (talk) 23:18, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
- To quote from the article "It rises at Featherbed Moss in the Sheffield district of South Yorkshire" Keith D (talk) 00:34, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Using OL1 1:25000 map, a watershed passes through Featherbed Moss, the parish and county boundary follows this line. The label is written on the Sheffield side. The word in the description is ´at´- in the sense that my garden starts at the kitchen door. It doesn t mean that my garden is in my kitchen. However there is a family os slugs that have difficulty understanding this! ;) Perhaps this could be worded better. -ClemRutter (talk) 10:33, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Copyedit
[edit]The parrot asked me if I'd have a look at this article as he was busy with other things. I've done some copyediting and wikification and removed information that was duplicated in different sections. However, the reference in brackets to (Littlemoor 1781) needs to be removed and replaced with a full inline citation. Richerman (talk) 01:44, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry I haven't had more time to work on this. I'll get around to improving the article though. As an aside, I very much like this image - I wonder if that isn't something we should consider making for the Irwell? I think I'll ask the user who made it what their source was. - I like the image too and I've replied about it to the Parrot on his talk page. The article is coming along well but more citations are needed. For instance, the first paragraph in the history section needs references, and the bits that come from the books in the bibliography section need to be split into seperate citations with page numbers e.g. Quale 2008 p.42 etc. I can say from bitter experience that it's much easier to do this properly at the beginning, than to try and sort it out later, as it's not always easy to remember exactly where you got the information from :) Richerman (talk) 01:09, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

- Replied at template talk page. This pretty much is an issue of trial-and-error. Huon (talk) 23:20, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks very much, I've added the template. It probably needs a bit of work depending on how many tributaries, mills etc should be added. I'll work on this but please add comments/adjustments. Many thanks indeed Mrbmerryweather (talk) 06:33, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello - I have a couple of other issues. I'm unsure how to add the V.T.E. to the route map box. Also I am have updated the template successfully on the template page [[2]] but the changes aren't being made on the page itself. Mrbmerryweather (talk) 07:30, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
- Done. I basically just took a template that already had the feature - Template:River Trent map - and copy-pasted. This should be discussed at Template talk:River Etherow. Huon (talk) 14:09, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks-I really wasn't sure which bit to copy and paste though! Mrbmerryweather (talk) 13:09, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
