Hello, this is my first attempt at creating a river map.

Please can users help adjust or guide me in the right direction please?

Initial issues - I can't line up the bridges and the direction of the arrow of the mouth of the Etherow is the wrong way as the Goyt is running East to West at this point.

Many thanks Mrbmerryweather (talk) 22:39, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

See also Template:Waterways legend. I think I've fixed most of the issues. Huon (talk) 23:16, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent - thank you. Mrbmerryweather (talk) 06:28, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Icon for bodies of water at the side of the river

[edit]

I'm trying to find the right icons for both Compstall Nature Reserve (keg pool) and Etherow Country park. Any ideas? The nearest seems to be Feeder Reservoir but that isn't actually correctMrbmerryweather (talk) 06:52, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Have you at least thought of any examples yet? SwisterTwister talk 07:03, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The nearest I can see is Marina, but that isn't technically correct Also do you have any ideas how to add the tributary at Torside Reservoir but I can't get that to work properly. I thought this might work but doesn't

I don't think we can help you find symbols that don't exist. There's the legend; what isn't in there (and maybe in the general list of pictograms at Wikipedia:Route diagram template/Catalog of pictograms probably would have to be created. On an unrelated note, going by examples such as River Trent and by the reservoir icon, I think the mouth is supposed to be at the top. I'll give adding the tributary to the reservoir a try.
