History and sources, etc
[edit]The sources provided so far can actually flesh out the history further and provide additional background. All sources have been archived at archive.org as well, since the Spokesman Review articles are behind a paywall. Still working on finding the school logo in a vector format, as well as Department of Education ID for it (as the school is so new, apparently they aren't in the database yet). In driving around and taking pictures of the local high schools I'm convinced aerial photography would do them better justice (since ground-based photography doesn't give the reader an idea of the true scope of the structures, including recreational areas). Being into wildlife photography I've never really had a reason to get a drone, but I might look for an excuse. :P —Locke Cole • t • c 02:03, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- There's a 2nd image I took above which shows the school and the surrounding hills with better context. I still like the other image better because it features the school name prominently but comments welcome... —Locke Cole • t • c 02:32, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- Found the vector logo for their "R" symbol, was hoping to find the wordmark and "R" symbol together in a vector format, but this will do for now. I have some more sources for this article but I haven't worked out how best to work them into the article. I'd like to do more research on if the school district had previous bond attempts that failed or what preceded the 2017-2018 history (after all, the land purchase back in the 1980's is a long time to sit on something, I'm assuming there was a reason). With one year in the books and another year set to start, there might be some more recent history worth covering (one of my unused sources is a walkout that was staged at the school after the Robb Elementary School shooting; might merit a sentence or two). I know there's a temptation for these school articles to heavily focus on athletics, so I'm resisting the temptation to add anything on that front just yet. Comments/criticism welcome. =) —Locke Cole • t • c 18:36, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- Took an aerial photo of the school (added to gallery above), I may revisit this some more. It was taken with a DJI Mini 3 Pro. I may inquire about adding an
aerial_image
parameter to the infobox for schools as I can see benefits to both the ground-level entry image as well as aerial imagery. —Locke Cole • t • c 05:24, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
