Diane Haithman (2021-03-19). "Trump Official Richard Grenell Weighs in After Wikipedia Briefly Names Him US President". TheWrap. Retrieved 2021-03-21. It is unknown how long Grenell was named the leader of the free world on Wikipedia before the information site edited out the reference on his page. However, the incorrect bio info stayed posted long enough for it to be picked up by Google and for lots of Twitter users to take note:
The statement "He is considered a staunch Trump loyalist" has been added and deleted from the lead (and recently re-added). It seems that there is disagreement over this. In an effort to find consensus, I've opened this section for discussion. Thanks Ism schism (talk) 01:11, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The primary reason for Grenell's public prominence was his appointment as DNI, a major role for which few were quick to say he was qualified, amid reports and concerns that Trump was installing loyalists to critical positions in the government. Hence that loyalism is a defining characteristic worthy of the lead. soibangla (talk) 01:20, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
RS overwhelmingly explicitly refer to him as a "Trump loyalist" (just google Grenell along with "Trump loyalist"). RS link him being a Trump loyalist to his ascent in the administration and to the actions he has taken while in the administration. It is clearly a very important part for this bio, and it should be re-added ASAP. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 01:56, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Should his current stances on Pakistan be included under foreign policy? He seems very vocal on the release of former PM Imran Khan and appears to be getting a polarizing reception in some Pakistani media, specifically from sites like Geo News. Just curious though, if not worthy to be dedicated to a sub-section, perhaps a slight mention of such? Iliru (talk) 05:39, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
